Cuomo signs new farm bill into law far away from any farms

ALBANY – Signaling the controversy surrounding the bill, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo chose a Manhattan office building – instead of a farm upstate or on Long Island – to sign a law Wednesday providing expansive new employment rights for farm workers.

The bill has been hailed by unions and Democrats in the Legislature for giving farm workers certain rights that have been long provided to employees in other sectors of the economy.

But critics say the measure ignores the realities of how farms operate in the different seasons and that more farms will be forced to close. The federal government earlier this year said that New York State lost 2,100 farms between 2012 and 2017.

The one thing Cuomo has succeeded in is driving people out of the state.

Keep voting for Democrats. Cuomo is on a mission to depopulate upstate NY. He’s glad they’re closing down.

Cool! This winter New York can freeze and starve to death in the dark.

No farms. No fracking. No gas. No jobs. No power.

Cuomo is making NY a private preserve for the super wealthy by driving the peons out - some will remain however as servants especially pretty women until their beauty fades - then out with the bath water for them.

You have to wonder if some of the New York’s think food comes from grocery stores, manufactured in the back rooms. Chicken pop eggs out right into cartons and cows wrap themselves in cellophane

Except for most of the upstaters that are footing the downstate bills. We are mostly conservative.

Which is worse, factory smog or cow farts?

Oh, woe, whoever will decide our pitiless fate?

One key tool of the left is using food as a weapon. They give zero sh*ts about losing farms nor care for the American farmer. If the left can make us more of an importer of food, they can control the people.

Time for the up staters to flex their muscles get off the couch and kick some. Only problem is there are a lot of young folks on public assistance not working and sitting home doing drugs

“”but the idiots leaving take their retarded liberal politics with them to their new residence.””

Such a tired old complaint - I insist those kind never leave any liberal state as they’re given everything they want right where they are now. It’s conservatives who leave for states whose politics match their own. We got out of CA to GA and according to the thread earlier today, the AJC has our county slowing dissolving from Republican to Democrat..Too late and too old for us to move again!

Haven’t really seen it here as all the professionals we see and at our advanced age we see a lot in the medical field, are all conservatives...who knows they too will be older some day and may bug out for a better place?
