Vashon Island is in Puget Sound a mile or so southwest of West Seattle. Like most of the islands, it’s gotten to be very pricey in recent years, although there are some families who’ve been there for generations before it got so toney. The dead man is probably either from one of those old families, or a limousine-liberal type.
