Appeals court denies demands to halt Trump abortion referral 'gag rule'

A federal appeals court on Thursday ruled that the Trump administration can proceed with its overhaul of the Title X family planning program, setting aside demands to halt a recent decision allowing the administration to enforce a "gag rule" for abortion referrals.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against emergency petitions that sought to block the rule from taking effect while the changes are being challenged in court.

That means the administration can enforce the rules, which block abortion providers like Planned Parenthood from the Title X program and bans providers in that program from referring women for abortions.

A HUGE win for Trump, and Humanity. Without that money, and Steyer's money, things could get thin for Democrat Campaign Financing

Trump has had impact on the 9th.

Either that or they finally got tired of being seen for the fools they have been for several decades.

Like some here know already, I took a kid from Brownsville who was the result of a rape under my wing.

Two years of HELL but I dropped him off at The National Guard Youth Challenge in Fort Dix yesterday for good after a million orientations and nearly clobbering him 2 dozen times over the past 2 years.

He will come out in five months hopefully with his GED, structure and an application to join the Guard or Army as he will turn 18 while in the “at-risk” program.

There is ALWAYS hope and that is why abortion is wrong. Well, one of the reasons.

It will cost the govt 5k a month for this program but if he pays taxes the rest of his life and doesn’t cost 25,00 a year in prison for 50 years it will have been a GREAT investment.

I know MANY here will be against the govt spending money on these kids with a national guard program.

But we can’t have it EVERY WAY.

We want them born, some of them need help early or later on.

NOT welfare. Not SNAP.

A military program to give them a shot at structure and a future to serve our country.

all I know is i am free for 5 months!!!

Then my mentoring term begins :(

That’s great. You helped this guy to chose the right path to follow. Many young people get to that point where they can start making decisions that will effect them for a long time.

Most still need a nudge in the proper direction.
Most will never again have such an opportunity to chose without being under heavy pressure. Any change equals a risk.
Life style circumstance or ongoing financial debt can make your mind up for you.

Thanks man.

He is an “at-risk” yoot.

And I was at risk of sending him to the ER!!

PEACE!!!! They have him for FIVE months.

And I’ll tell ya, they were open for business!

He started talking tough and one guardsman told him to shut up and tuck in his shirt and HE DID!

I did everything that I could. I got him there.

The rest is up to him.

And your observations about life are keen and on target.

9th Circus?...................
************************

There are 29 Judgeship positions on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal.

9 Clinton appointees

5 GW Bush Appointees (who all passed the blue slip veto process enjoyed by the DemocRAT Senators of California or, for one, Nevada).

7 Obama Appointees

7 Trump Appointees

1 Current Vacancy (to be filled by Trump)

Of the 14 Clinton/Bush Appointees, all but one ALREADY meet the age/service requirements for retirement. Many of these will be increasingly hearing the siren call of retirement (or senior status) and succumb yielding additional vacancies for Trump nominees. So slowly but surely, Trump is remaking that anti-Constitutional Appeals Court.
