The Revolution Turns Inward: Democrats Now Blasting Each Other

When Mary Katharine Ham and I speak publicly about our book, End of Discussion, we often spend a fair amount of time lingering on the subject of the Left's weaponization of identity politics. Leftists very frequently seek to disqualify opposing viewpoints by claiming that those with different ideas are motivated by prejudice or bigotry, citing a parade of "-isms" as a substitute for substantive debate. This has become such a standard form of discourse, we've argued, that when internal disagreements arise, many people apply the same demagogic tactics on their fellow partisans, having effectively forgotten how to argue in good faith or on the merits.

An example we've employed in the past is the minor tempest that was stirred when the left flank of the Democratic Party opposed a trade deal that was favored by President Obama. In advancing his position, Obama referred to one of his critics on this issue -- Senator Elizabeth Warren (who has other identity issues of her own making) -- as "Liz" in an interview. This touched off criticism within the party among some who charged that Obama's use of a nickname was dismissive and therefore sexist. Others, offended that Obama was being given the Republican treatment on that front, wondered whether lobbing false claims of sexism at the first black president might have some problematic racial undertones. Welcome to the Woke Whirlwind, Democrats.

Joe Biden has now been victimized by this same toxic environment, in which his (popular) 1970's stance on mandatory school busing has been turned into a cudgel to portray him as racially insensitive...by a woman of color who turns out to basically, um, share his policy position on the issue. The point of the attack wasn't the policy; it was the identity politics. And it was unleashed minutes after the aggressor asserted, to applause, that the audience wasn't interested in witnessing a nasty "food fight." She then promptly flung fist-full of mashed potatoes at Biden, and fundraised off of it by selling t-shirts celebrating that premeditated moment. Now we have the latest iteration of the revolution turning inward, with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez furiously responding to pointed criticisms of her tactics and behavior from the Democratic Speaker of the House by rushing down the well-trod path to the identity politics well:

She later clarified that she "absolutely" does not consider Pelosi a racist, of course -- just as Kamala Harris so generously said about Biden, despite implying the opposite. AOC is just asking questions, you see, and again suggesting that sharp criticism of her squad is literally dangerous ("incitement," perhaps?), another familiar silencing tactic:

Consider it a warning shot, old, white, Democrats. If a political skirmish breaks out, identity will be gratuitously raised and used as a weapon. You'd best understand and fear the hierarchy. Ah, but both wings of the party can play that game:

Those points were reportedly disseminated in a mass internal email among Democrats. It's true that AOC's chief of staff -- last seen wearing a shirt bearing the visage of a literal Nazi collaborator -- has indeed done precisely that. I expect that fact has been tucked away in the grievance file by his intra-party critics for the next time he or his boss are defending the Squad's anti-Semitism. These are the rules you've created, liberals. Enjoy.

The issues are compounded because the left are allowed to get away with bad ideas by flying the flag of “Good Intentions” When you confront them with the illogical mature of their portions and they have no rational recourse they shrug and say “Well at least I have good intentions.” It doesn’t matter to them whether what they believe is true or not as long as they want to help.

You cannot argue with these people because their self-righteousness precludes them every admitting to a mistake. Their ideology, in their mind, no matter how provably wrong, is infallible. Therefore the facts presented must be wrong.

I am reminded of a line by Killgore Trout in the novel “Breakfast of Champions” by Kurt Vonnegut “Mental illness is caused by bad ideas” The democrats are crazy because they have accepted bad ideas.

Add to the above reality:

1. The massive number of black babies aborted every year.
2. Blacks killing each other with open gangland violence in many large cities like Chicago, Oakland, LA and ???! BLM at work 24/7!
3. Black males in prisons across America for the crimes they committed.

It becomes very obvious that the racist democrats have an undeclared war against American blacks in the womb to blacks of all ages across America.

The racist democrats will not need black voters to stay in control of big cities in a decade or less.

Yet, the blacks in congress and black mayors of major cities across of America really don’t care for their black citizens. They will just promise reparations and more welfare as their undeclared war against black Americans continues 24/7.

Besides the above obvious happenings with AOC and her new sisters in Congress. Their group, Justice Democrats are taking aim at getting rid of Congressional Black Caucus members:

Congressional Black Caucus members are furious at Justice Democrats, accusing the outside progressive group aligned with firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) of trying to oust lawmakers of color, specifically African-American lawmakers.

Justice Democrats is backing primary challengers to eight-term Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), a Hispanic Caucus member, and 10-term Rep. Lacy Clay (D-Mo.), a member of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). The insurgent group also made noise this year about challenging Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), a CBC member seen as the heir apparent to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

CBC leaders are fretting that Justice Democrats may target other black lawmakers in the coming weeks and months, including Reps. Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.), Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio), Emanual Cleaver (D-Mo.) and Anthony Brown (D-Md.). Brown said the group has been making calls in his district, actively trying to recruit a challenger to run against him.

There is a fundamental disconnect between America’s established Black constituency and the emerging illegal alien constituency.

Both communities are heavily dependent upon governmental welfare payments. There is simply not enough welfare resources to go around and the numbers are getting so bad it’s become a zero sum game - for every thing one community gets, another loses

Since illegal aliens are now considered the future on the Democrat Party, they are being catered to and being sent to the front of the line when it comes to housing and handouts.
Blacks are being taken for granted and are being sent to the back of the bus again by Democrats.

It’s only a matter of time before Black voters are replaced by Hispanic votes. At that point, Blacks will no longer be needed by Democrats, and they will go from riding in the back of the bus to being thrown under the bus.
