GET ACOSTA! BUT GET THE RIGHT GUY, TOO
Ann Coulter Dot Com ^ | 10 July 2019 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 07/10/2019 5:19:08 PM PDT by Rummyfan

Now that the media is finally, at long last, interested in the 2006 Jeffrey Epstein child sex case, perhaps we can get an answer to the most intriguing question: Why does he keep escaping justice on essentially the same child molestation charges?

The only reason for the media’s flood-the-zone coverage of Epstein -- 13 years late -- is that they think they’ve found a Trump connection. Oh happy day. (Trump was friendly with Epstein 15 years ago -- before banning him from Mar-a-Lago for life after he hit on a young girl working there.)

The main hook is: Trump’s Labor secretary, Alex Acosta, accepted a disreputable plea deal with Epstein while serving as a U.S. attorney under President Bush. If fixating on Acosta is what it takes to keep this case from being brushed under the rug (again), then I guess you can have him.

But just between us, Acosta's not the real villain.

It’s easy to forget, but Epstein’s arrest this week marks the third attempted prosecution of him for sex with underage girls.

It’s certainly been easy for the media to forget! In The New York Times’ version of events -- and that of every other news outlet -- the Palm Beach police discovered Epstein was paying minor girls from West Palm Beach for sex ... and then took the case straight to the FBI!

That seems odd: Why wouldn’t police bring their case to the local prosecutor, who was overseeing the investigation and issuing subpoenas?

Because they did.

Who was the atty general over Acosta? No way he makes this decision by himself.

Michael Mukasey, who was also a former Federal judge and considered Supreme Court caliber.

My question is where was the media when Epstein got the light sentence? The only reason they care is this is another way to crap on his administration.

I listened to the entire Acosta presser today.

He was excellent in explaining away the accusations against him.

If fixating on Acosta is what it takes to keep this case from being brushed under the rug (again), then I guess you can have him..and I'm wondering if hiring and keeping Acosta around isn't a deliberate tactic by Trump to make sure that the press finally keeps after this story which has the potential of exposing some significant 'rat politicians as real scumbags - the press just can't ignore the catnip of trying to get something big on Trump or at least one of his major appointees....

Acosta was so good at explaining the entire situation, the more he spoke the more I like him.

The only question he dodged was the one about Epstein being an “Intelligence Agent.” And he dodged that one very well.

just a hunch, but when the truth is exposed and I hope it will be, many prominent people will be locked up.

There has to have been a state sponsor involved to leverage the 2008 NPA. I don’t believe Trump will allow that this time. Trump is a honey badger when it comes to this type of stuff. He is going to blow it all up.

Thank you, Jeff Sessions! He single-handedly took down Epstein.

I stopped listening when the discussion continued in Spanish.

To be fair the reporter asked him to respond to her yet unasked question in Spanish. He said only if you ask it in Spanish...which I thought was rather clever.

The problem with the "get Acosta" meme is that the Democrats have been trying to rob Trump of his team; one by one they've been working to pick off his Cabinet Secretaries to cripple or hobble him.

At the minimum, losing Acosta forces Trump to nominate a new Labor Secretary, which gives Senate Democrats a new opportunity to use a confirmation hearing as a platform to bash Trump in the leadup to the 2020 elections.

A confirmation hearing would be held by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, and Labor. That committee is chaired by Lamar Alexander, and the Democrat Ranking Member is Patty Murray. Also on the committee is Bernie Sanders (Committee Minority Leader) and Elizabeth Warren.

You can be sure that Sanders and Warren would use the platform to disrupt and attack President Trump, as well as elevate their Presidential campaigns.

That's the danger of not seeing the further out implications of what the Democrats do. Getting Acosta tossed opens up a high profile platform for Democrats to bash the Trump administration, just like how they did with the Kavanaugh hearings just prior to the 2018 elections.

As usual, the story appears to be far more complicated than the always ravishing, razor tongued Coulter presents it.

Apparently Alberto Gonzalez did not want a big deal made of this case and the evidence at hand was not as voluminous as now.

Remember,

Dubya was President when this broke.
Jebber was governor of Florida.
Bill Clinton took 27 rides we know of in Epstein’s plane with under aged females.

Dubya and the Clintons were social friends.

JUST SAYIN’ !!!!!

Someone help me out.

Bill Barr worked for the law firm that got Epstein his slap on the hand the first time. So he’s recused himself from review of that case.

Now Epstein is up on different charges, and Barr is now AG. And he’s not recusing himself in this case.

Also, going back in time, Barr’s dad was Headmaster of a prestigious school in New York, and he hired a 20-something dude who had no college degree as a math teacher, whose name was Jeffrey Epstein.

Are these things true or not?

Is it a small world, or is the fix already in, and everyone all mobbed up with the C A and Mossad and MI6, et al.

Just axin’.
