Austin Goes from Harmlessly Weird to Dangerously Stupid by Legalizing Camping on City Streets

Austin has long been the weird, liberal capital of Texas. The rest of Texas just sort of shrugs and puts up with it. Austin is quirky. Austin is odd. Austin lives in its own little world. Austin is also home to some of the best live music joints anywhere and you have to work pretty hard to find a bad restaurant in the city, so it’s not without its charms. The joke about Austin is that it’s nice because it's so close to Texas (its the capital, a deep blue dot surrounded by a vast red sea). Austin is like that oddball cousin we all have. He’s there. He picks his nose and argues with light posts. But he’s nice and basically no threat to anyone, so whaddyagonnado?

Don’t need the California people to screw up Austin. It has been a liberal mess for at least 40 years, home of Dazed and Confused and Slackers two movies that exemplify the city. The City Council and City Government in general are a bunch of liberal hacks. The city wants to reconfigure the bike lanes in my neighborhood after countless meetings and a neighborhood survey that rejected the cities planned changes by over 70% they have announced they are moving forward with the planned changes anyway.

I was an Austin native. I escaped Austin over 20 years ago and have never looked back.

Dittos, except not a native. Lived there from 74 to 99. Saw where the California Nazis were taking it and got out while the getting was good.

LOL, new trademark is correct.

They ruined Colorado too.
Liberals are like locusts. They devour everything and then move on.

Hey, just cause a council member got stoned and started shooting his garden hose thinking it was a snake, and another one sneaked up to the roof of the council annex to snort coke during council meetings doesn’t mean...never mind.

Wait ‘til their music scene becomes known as Austin $hitty Limits. I hope they have to boot scoot through the CRAP to get to their favorite eating spot. If anyone in Texas deserves it, it is Austin.

Now you know why us real Texans always wanted to surround the whole city with a moat so none of the wackos could escape. It must be in the water. More specifically, in the bat guano. They’ve been drinking the water out of City Lake from under the Congress Street bridge. It has made them truly batty.

Liberals think letting the whole world into this country is a great thing, not being smart enough to know that there is a breaking point and we all will suffer horrendously when that pint is reached. Liberals are such idiots.

I remember when the Austin City Council voted to boycott any city business with the state of Colorado after their citizens voted for an anti-gay proposition. This was back in the early 90s.

After this historic vote, the council adjourned so they could begin their week-long retreat in Aspen.

Just add this city the other liberal shitholes like SF, LA, Seattle, and the many others.

As a resident of a suburb of Seattle, I agree with you. Yesterday my hubby told me about two other older riders of the bus he takes downtown, who he knows by name. Well, the man wasn't there that day and the woman asked my husband if he could walk her to her building since the other guy wasn't there. The sidewalk was littered with (homeless) drug addicts, so my hubby did walk her down to her building. She was afraid to walk by herself.
