Yes, and how about Rosie O’Donnell with her FIVE violations (knowingly) against campaign finance reform! WHEN is she ever going to be charged and punished like Dinesh was???
“Yes, and how about Rosie ODonnell with her FIVE violations (knowingly) against campaign finance reform! WHEN is she ever going to be charged and punished like Dinesh was???”
One of the popular myths on our side, promoted by Dinesh himself. The two cases are different.
Dinesh donated 20 grand over the limit to a single candidate. He concealed this excess donation by using the names of straw donors to hide what he was doing. That is evidence of a consciousness of guilt that a court wouldn’t miss. This wasn’t a mistake, it was a calculated effort to evade the law. Plus he even admitted to the court that he knew what he was doing.
Rosie didn’t conceal her donations. Her excess donation amounted $5400, spread among 5 races. Had she marked the money as “primary” and “general” in one case her excess would be $1500 less. She was deserving of a fine but there wasn’t the evidence of concealment, which is what got Dinesh charged with a crime.
Dinesh needs to stop playing the victim. He brought this on himself, just like he brought on his own firing from the Christian college that had hired him as their president. There’s a consistent thread in his troubles and it has his name on it.
