Hagel says Congress needs to do its duty and put country over party or president

It's time for Congress to step up, reclaim its constitutional authority and exercise its duty to place country over party or president or political gain, former Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said Monday. "I think the Congress has forfeited its powers in many ways, allowing the president to be the dominant branch of government," Nebraska's former two-term Republican senator said in a telephone interview from suburban Washington. And that's even more dangerous when "this president, probably more than any we've ever had, is less informed, more arrogant, bullying people, really ignorant about our government and the consequences of his actions," Hagel said. "We've never had a White House or a president completely disregard the constitutional powers and responsibilities of Congress as this guy is doing in telling people to disregard congressional subpoenas" to appear before House committees to testify about issues related to the Mueller probe of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, Hagel said

Just another confused RINO POS mouthing of for attention.

I never hear these Morons go into detail about their baseless accusations. They always paint a broad brush of ignorance to stir up controversy.

You’re about 10 years too late in pointing this out Chuck. Screw you. Now we need another 6 years of President Trump setting the tempo and making the rules to undo all of what Obama did. Then we can talk about Congress taking back some authority.

Would someone change Chuck’s Depends? He sounds like he has a steaming pant load and it is bothering him.

This totally worthless asshole, and his buddy, the obnoxious John McCain, carried water for the Democrats and attacked GWB for years.

I hope his reunion with the former Senile Senator from Arizona isn’t far off.

A congress that continually and routinely passes legislation blantanly and obviously unconstitutional cannot suddenly be concerned about its constitutional authority. The Constitution matters, or it doesn’t.

I assume that when Hagel speaks it is the meat packers who are talking, maybe I am wrong about who rents his mouth but it is open for business.

I guess when we have a “do nothing” Congress, there’s no choice but to step up and get things done, and that’s what we have in this president.

The Republican Party keeps putting rinos up for election in Nebraska. Money pours in for candidates who appear prolife pro conservatives. They win, then they change. We need true conservatives badly here. And Hagen needs to shut up. We don’t care what he says.

Congress has absolutely no Constitutional authority to continually harass the office of the President, which is what these constant subpoenas and investigations amount to.

It’s so refreshing to see the media quote a prominent committed conservative like former Sen. Hagel. These guys’ views are so fresh, unexpected and insightful.

I am proud to support the GOP with my donations of hard-earned money exactly because of these consistently principled conservative GOP’ers. NOT!

Hagel is part of the problem and not at all part of the solution.

Of course not. That would have been racist!
