“Chairman Graham’s decision to force this nomination through in spite of the objections of both home-state senators is the latest example of the breakdown of precedents and traditions that historically protected our courts through senators’ advice and consent.”

The “advice and consent” power is the power of the whole Senate, acting as a body. Nothing in that Constitutional mandate gives that power over to an individual Senator to single handedly hold up the exercise of that “advice and consent”.

Lastly, the ninth circuit court serves many states in the west, not just California, and California does not get a veto on who serves on that court.

“”” This unravelling of a long-established process is part of Trump’s efforts to reshape the courts and, in particular, to remake the Ninth Circuit “””

I thought it was Cocaine Mitch doing this

And didn’t someone else “unravel” the long standing tradition? Some Dem from AZ named Harry

I’m still waiting for even one of them to be able to articulate what ‘extreme and dangerous’ policies ? - it’s just a soundbite to them. A virtue-signaling sentence filler.

Excellent! I LOVE hearing this kind of stuff. The more these people whine and throw temper tantrums, the more I know the nominee is e actly the kind of judge we need on the Circuit Courts.

So much of DC is like the Warner Bros cartoon with Sam Sheepdog and Frank Wolf.

They clock in, greet each other perfunctorily, do their jobs, clock out. Same thing tomorrow.

Soundbite liberalism pays well in the swamp. I’d be hanging from a rope if I had to live among those smug idiots.

“Bress, a young conservative ideologue”

Sounds like this fellow is a must-have.

Push him through soon, Cocaine Mitch.

“Kacsmaryk is a former assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas and a member of the far-right Federalist Society. He currently serves as the deputy general counsel at First Liberty Institute, a religious nonprofit, [far-left] NBC News reported.”

My edit to ensure accuracy and full disclosure for NBC.

Gotta love it. “Far Right” Federalist Society. LOL

There is no better single factor to endear a judicial nominee to me than member of the Federalist Society.

And again......Promises made, promises kept!

Not tired of winning! MAGA/ KAG

I keep remembering the Grima Wormtongues of the republicans, Bill Krystol and George Will. Will said it would take the republican party 20 years to recover from a Trump candidacy. I hope it's longer than that, because he was talking about the Bush/Romney/Rockefeller party, not the Reagan/Goldwater party.

Will recommended splitting the ticket, voting for Hillary and republicans everywhere else. Krystol was the mouthpiece for the CIA asset, Evan McMullen. Tells you how scared they were of a Trump win, cause McMullen was run with the hope that he would draw enough votes from Trump to flip Utah to Hillary. Imagine if that cancerous cow had been making the judicial appointments.

They are VERY upset about losing the 9th circuit, their main avenue to introducing their crackpot ideas to American jurisprudence.

They have not lost the 9th and likely they never will.

The 9th Circuit is made up of 44 judges. The court’s headquarters is in San Francisco.
