Chelsea Manning is slated to face daily fines for contempt of court due to a Saturday deadline for the jailed WikiLeaks source to start cooperating with federal investigators.
Manning, a 31-year-old activist and former Army analyst, was found in civil contempt on May 16 for refusing to testify before a federal grand jury empaneled in Alexandria, Virginia, where the Department of Justice has for years helmed the governments criminal investigation into the WikiLeaks website and its founder, Julian Assange.
The second contempt ruling issued against her in nearly as many months, Manning was ordered jailed and given until this weekend to cooperate without facing monetary sanctions.
U.S. District Judge Anthony Trenga, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, ordered that if Chelsea Manning does not purge herself of contempt within 30 days of this Order, she shall incur a conditional fine of $500 per day until such time as she purges herself of contempt.

Why doesn’t it just testify and reply “I don’t recall” to every question?
Use the Hillary defense...”Ignorance”.
Him.
Him.
Him.
The magic negro isn’t around to pardon him this time.
He’s in jail so how can he .... oh, never mind.
What money does he have to pay daily fines?
I’ve no idea.
Don’t know where he gets the money to his lawyer Nancy Hollander either unless the lawyer is doing it pro bono.
I know he’s done interviews and photo shoots, but it seems like any income from that should be sequestered as restitution.
What a frickin weirdo.
I’m no fan. But I don’t believe anyone should be forced to testify even with immunity. It should be enough just to plead the 5th.
Shes a dude, Jim.
“Manning, a 31-year-old activist and former Army analyst,”
No, a 31 year old traitor who took highly classified documents, and sold them because to the US military’s position on homosexuality. And, he was pardoned while thousands are still in military prison for much lesser crimes such as possession of marijuana, AWOL, and other inconsequential crimes. This is what grinds me. He should have never been let out
Exactly...He’s not only a traitor to our country but broke his oath when he joined the Army.
“I dont believe anyone should be forced to testify even with immunity.”
How about in National security cases, like massive breaches of Military secrets, that might lead to mass casualties, or to America losing a war?
So, I believe in equal rights. But homosexuals do not want equal rights. They want to be a protected special class that is immune to the legal system. He was pardoned because of his homosexuality and the fact he decided to become transgender. The Army is not a social experiment. It is a military force to protect our nation.
Whatever became of that other traitor Bergdahl?
Didn’t the 0bammy pardon this one too?
...or a creature of honor.
Should have been given the firing squad.
