What comes next after the United States?
American Thinker ^ | June 15, 2019 | Eric Utter

As Washington was the "one indispensable man," the U.S. is the one indispensable nation. The less its leaders and its citizens believe that, the more it is proven to be true, as the world situation deteriorates. Yet many Americans are experiencing a crisis of faith, deeper and more sinister than the "malaise" with which Jimmy Carter said we were afflicted in the late 1970s.

Truth be told, the United States has been in the midst of a "Cold Culture War" for several decades. That war is essentially over. The progressives won. In 1993, Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-N.Y.) coined the phrase "defining deviancy down" to describe the redefining of deviancy to exempt conduct previously stigmatized and brand behavior previously considered abnormal and abhorrent as normal and mainstream. (He was vehemently against this practice). Can anyone imagine a Democrat saying such a thing today? Shortly thereafter came the "trickle-down immorality" of the Clinton years. In more recent times, marriage has been redefined, with homosexuality approved and celebrated and the LGBTQIIA+ community holding public "PRIDE!" parades all over the fruited plain, and men who claim to be women have won the "right" to excrete or compete in any bathroom, locker room, or venue their transgendered hearts desire.

The Left never gives in, never tires, never wavers, always presses on. The Ten Commandments are banned from public spaces. Conservatives are prevented from speaking on college campuses or shouted down if they are "allowed" to speak. Those wearing "MAGA" hats are the targets of bullying and violence. Statues of Civil War figures and former presidents are removed as statues of Baphomet are unveiled. Christianity is boldly mocked in movies, on television, and by "entertainers" and academics. Anti-Semitism is on the rise.

It’s doubtful that that toothpaste is going back into the tube.

Actually if you work the tube so it expands you can actually suck the toothpaste back in.

The gap between the left and right in this nation is far too wide to ever bridge. We must separate peacefully before it ends in a shooting war.

“Tolerance is not a virtue per se. It can be — and often is — a good thing, but it can be bad as well. It needs to be remembered that we get more of what we tolerate.”

I realized recently that every virtue has a Laffer curve. Every unmoderated virtue becomes a vice.

So with excessive tolerance and freedom comes a collapse followed by tyranny.

Yes, you can have too much of a good thing.

I imagine you don’t see much medical use regarding hormonal contraceptives? I had a cycle that required multiple blood transfusions due to a loss of blood (1 liter daily) and which had previously lasted 14 months. Transfusions are not good for transplant recipients. Nor are monster ovarian cysts (larger than the ovary itself) when the surgical option is not a good one. If you have been pelted in the plums at any point, the nerves connected to the ovaries are the same nerve endings a man has connected to the gonads, and I had to deal with that pain for months before they finally put me on hormonal contraceptives to shrink the cyst when it wouldn’t shrink on its own. Ovarian cysts normally disappear in a week or burst. That didn’t happen, because my body just hates me, I suppose.

Contraceptives are used to control the menstrual cycle, manage acne, and the emotional instability that comes with a menstrual cycle. They are also sometimes given to breast, uterine, fallopian, and ovarian cancer patients to create hormonal stability where it has otherwise been lost or needs balancing.

I suppose endometrial ablation, tubal ligation (reversible) and vasectomies (reversible) should also be banned then, if we’re speaking solely on the terms of those surgeries causing loose morals.

Some of us are capable of self-control and are responsible. I have had two partners in my lifetime with one being my current husband, and the other having been a fiancée. Sadly, he did not have as much self-control as I did.

The author does not, however, address the cornerstone question “What comes next after the United States?”

Heh. Good catch. Headline bait and switch.

If the deviant quotient defines whether a nation/civilization lives or dies, then the survivors will be either Chinese or Muslim. And since the Chinese approach is not religion based, I’d have to go with Muslim.

Of course the way Islam permits/requires women to be treated, the humping of young boys, and predilection to murdering unbelievers, something worse than deviance is at hand.

“What comes next after the United States?”

The destruction of Western Civilization, followed closely by the nightmare of a global, tribal, pre-industrialization dystopia in which the 1% of the 1% of the 1% (~10,000) lives in ultra-secure, ultra luxurious fashion.

Sucks, but truth.

Oh, I see only three:

The United States of the Atlantic will become part of Canada.

The State of Aztlan will become part of Mexico.

The rest will Greater Texas (which will include Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii.

"Unfortunately it is part of our fallen human nature to resort to name calling and shouting down those whose positions on morality cannot be defeated in polite conversation."

So true. In fact one can witness what you are talking about right here on FR between members. It seems far to easy these days to resort to using the invective and calumny when engaging with those who don't mirror your every belief.

I dislike “White American Republic.” There are plenty of CONSERVATIVE minorities that would be welcome in the heartland. Better to name it “The TRUE American Republic” or “The Conservative American Republic” or “The Constitutional Republic.”

Wow, haven’t seen those paintings before. They do tell the story, don’t they?

Barbarian invasion, civilization overthrown and in collapse, anarchy, no rule of law. Not a pretty picture, is it?

It's ironic, but I think these young socialists are actually rebelling against - without realizing it - the nihilism underlying their own worldview.

By almost any historical measure, they are extremely well-off, and tolerance of varying lifestyles and ethnicities has never been higher. They have gadgets that their great-grandparents could not have foreseen, and they are arguably the most pampered generation in history.

Yet many are filled with rage and resentment, and they flail about searching for a scapegoat - Trump, capitalism, Wall Street, the banks, the NRA, old white men, Civil War monuments, and so forth. But I think this is a spiritual crisis fostered by their own worldview, which is ultimately materialistic and nihilistic.

Ironically, this nihilism is most sharply manifest in three of the issues which have their utmost support: abortion, the LGBTQ movement, and the environment. If babies can be dismembered and killed at any stage of pregnancy, if gender is simply a matter of personal whim, and if human beings are a cancer on the planet, what ultimate purpose can life have?
