Two Tanker Ships Damaged In Suspected Attacks In The Gulf Of Oman (Updated) [good details]

The situation remains extremely fluid at this time and details are bound to morph in the coming hours, but it seems clear that some sort of maritime incident has occurred in the Sea Of Oman. Reports indicate that at least one tanker is on fire and the UK Maritime Trade Operations group put out a safety bulletin warning of an incident occurring in the Gulf Of Oman and urging extreme caution to mariners operating in the area.

The Marshall Islands-flagged tanker Front Altair appears to be the ship on fire, while reports also state that the Panama-flagged tanker Kokuka Courageous has also been involved in some type of an incident. The ships are in an area to the southeast of the Strait Of Hormuz, the same general locale where America's Lincoln Carrier Strike Group has been operating in recent weeks.

*snip*

Whatever happened, it occurred at a time when the entire region is extremely tense following an influx of U.S. forces due to largely unspecified intelligence reports about Iran spinning up operations against U.S. interests in the Middle East. A number of tankers were struck by what appears to be Limpet Mines shortly after the U.S. said it was speeding the Lincoln Carrier Strike Group to the region in an act of deterrence. Nobody has claimed responsibilities for those attacks that resulted in less than catastrophic damage to the tankers, although the U.S. and its partners in the region have stated that they think it was the work of irregular Iranian proxy forces.

I’m sure there’s plenty of money available to Stage such an event and combination of Iran Soros and Jarrett...If you don’t think Jarrettis involved in this you are wacko. They need oil to go higher anything they turned the damage of our president before Obama gets back and starts running.

Yesterday, Abe visited Iran

Trump rescinded the Japanese waiver on purchasing Iranian oil.

Is Japan buying Iranian oil in violation of American Sanctions? Did Abe got to Iran t inform the mullahs that Japan was no longer gointg to buy their oil and they must end their nuclear programs?

Jarrett is VERY connected over there. There is absolutely no other way to explain her immediate, direct, personal and long-standing prominence within the two Obozo administrations.

Hell!!-her malicious, slimy, permanent scowl ITSELF, would be enough to keep her OUT of any other legitimate enterprise.

BTW-She was persona non grata BEFORE we ever heard of Obama and instantaneously returned to that ‘rank’ when he left office. Ever wonder about that? That creep is a REAL cypher and certainly a ‘plant’, who would never have seen the light of day in US politics except for a President as wholly compromised as Obozo !!

A limpet mine is a type of naval mine attached to a target by magnets. It is so named because of its superficial similarity to the limpet, a type of sea snail that clings tightly to rocks or other hard surfaces.

A swimmer or diver may attach the mine, which is usually designed with hollow compartments to give the mine slight negative buoyancy, making it easier to handle underwater.

Usually limpet mines are set off by a time fuse. They may also have an anti-handling device, making the mine explode if removed from the hull by enemy divers or by explosions. Sometimes the limpet mine was fitted with a small turbine which would detonate the mine after the ship had sailed a certain distance, so that it was likely to sink in navigable channels or deep water out of reach of easy salvage. Thus, determining the cause of the sinking is more difficult.

...
Could be there are no coincidences...loss of oil sales to Japan...need higher prices elsewhere to fill the gap...stage an incident...voila

The higher priority is dealing with the libtards here. Our Domestic enemies are our biggest threat and they need to be dealt with before we ever fire a single shot in any other country, ever again. THAT needs to be the “Trump Doctrine”.

We have economic interests in the Gulf. They must be protected.

So we “preserve our interests” while we lose the country? How does that make sense? How relevant will “our interests” be as we lose the country itself?

Persians playing with fire. Using proxies probably. Plausible deniability and all that. A couple of well-placed 500 pounders on Kharg Island and resultant fires/explosions will knock it out for sometime.

Flagged in the marshall islands. That’s a pretty good deal for the company owning the ships; they get the protection of the US navy without actually paying taxes to help support the navy. When I was in the navy all the tankers were flagged to either panama or liberia. When the iranians started attacking tankers in the gulf during their war with iraq I thought the panamanian or liberian navies should have sailed to their defense.

Gulf of Tonkin incident?

https://infogalactic.com/info/Gulf_of_Tonkin_incident

I can’t think of anything the Iranians would have to gain by attacking these ships. But there us a lot OTHER countries might have to gain if they manipulate the US into fighting the Iranians.

Don’t be manipulated. Don’t go off half-cocked.

BTW, trouble in the Gulf means higher oil prices. Big trouble in the Gulf means skyrocketing oil prices.

Skyrocketing oil prices means a slowing of our economy. Perhaps even the threat of a recession.

That (a recession or the threat thereof) gives the Democrats fodder for their 2020 campaign.

All this stuff is linked together.
