Some Republican Lawmakers Break With Party on Climate Change

A small but growing number of Republican lawmakers are urging action on climate change, driven by shifting sentiment among GOP voters and the effects of global warming, from stronger hurricanes to more-destructive wildfires.

The group backs policies rooted in what they consider GOP principles, favoring market-based solutions rather than government regulations. Many are loyal supporters of President Trump, but they part with him on climate change, which he has dismissed as hyped.

Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida says the GOP needs to advance sound conservative proposals to combat climate change and embrace science, or risk long-term political damage.

“How can we as a party stand up to the generational challenges we face with globalization and automation and climate change if we don’t look credible to the body politic,” Mr. Gaetz said in an interview.

In April, Mr. Gaetz announced his “Green Real Deal” plan that seeks to cut greenhouse-gas emissions by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship and reducing government regulations on the development of clean-energy technology. His plan is a counter to the “Green New Deal” proposed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) and others that involves large federal investments in buildings, industries and transportation systems to slash emissions.

"stronger hurricanes"

So, does he know for a fact that MAN is the cause? If he has proof, let's see it.
Stronger than what? Does he have the statistics for EVERY hurricane that has EVER formed on the planet?

"to more-destructive wildfires"

"Destructive" is a relative term, and the fact that there's more stuff around to be destroyed than there used to be.

If the seas were really rising...do you think the Hollywood Elite would keep moving into Malibu?
No one asks these questions?

DON’T EVER let the other side frame the discourse. DON’T EVER let the other side make you appear defensive.

Establishment self identifying. They are also the ones backing the open border.

1. What results are expected and when.
2. What constitutes success.
3. Who decides what projects are conducted and their costs.
4. When is the end date.
5. How are results replicated via the scientific method as proofs.
6. Who controls the $$$$$$, where, and how is it distributed.

These are what I want to know for something called ‘climate change’ before I consider it valid.

Yes, good points.

The chance of (many more) things being damaged, has gone up dramatically over the decades.

[[I have seen no evidence of more powerful hurricanes or any other unusually weather phenomenon.]]

Joe Bastardi former weather channel dude who doesn’t believe in man caused climate change has proven that storms are NOT getting worse- but the sad thing is that even if someone were to send these ‘republican’ senators the facts- they would just ignore it and keep repeating the same lie over and over that storms are getting worse-

WSJ’s AC Flores cites one Republican US Congressional legislator who supports government climate control and their editor decides it’s news and has Flores report it as if there are many.

Is it climate change or global warming?

Stronger hurricanes and more destructive wildfires?

Not a shred of evidence that either one is occurring or that either can be linked to climate change or global warming. F'NNG idiots.

If you go to the American Museum of Natural History, and seek out the Rose Center for Earth and Space, and find the Ice Core exhibit. This is a model of an ice core bored from Greenland, during the Greenland Ice Sheet Project. It represents 110,000 years of data. From air bubbles trapped in the ice, scientists can recreate the atmosphere over the 110,000 years. You can run the computer screen down the length of the ice core replica and see what the CO2 and O2 levels were at every point (see video).

And here is a graph showing the large fluctuations which have taken place over the last 110,000 years. So the recent rise in temps is not unique.

They want to get in on the shake down scam. “You have a nice business here it would be a shame if global warming would happen.” “If you donate to my campaign I’ll make an exception to cap a trade for your company”

Actually it is not quite that simple. A tipping point has occurred. Not a fake one that leftist always scream about. We have caused in a way, what is to come. The return of the ice age. And that will be the penalty the atheists will endure. Fine. There is no God according to them. Then survive what you have done to this planet without gods help. Have fun.
