Limbaugh: Here's Why Trump Should Start Going To California
Dailywire.com ^ | June 11, 2019 | James Barrett

Rush Limbaugh offered a piece of counterintuitive advice to Donald Trump on his radio program Tuesday: "Go to California, Mr. President."

"I made a brilliant observation yesterday about the Democrats in California," said Limbaugh (transcript via RushLimbaugh.com). "Democrats in LA are appalled that homelessness in their city is rising and so much of it, and they’re mad that the Democrat candidates for president are not talking about it. And I told the people of LA (and I’ll do it again today), 'The Democrats are not gonna talk about your problems. They already own you! They don’t need to fix a damn thing in California.'"

Democrats know every election cycle that they will get all of California's electoral votes and the dominance of the Democratic Party in the state means that Republicans effectively "don't exist" on the Left Coast.

"Democrat candidates for president have got nothing to gain by going to California and pointing out what’s happening there," said Rush. "They’ve got nothing but anything to lose by doing that. If they go to California and start complaining, you can’t blame Republicans for it because the Republicans have nothing to do with what life is like in California now. That’s totally owned by the Democrats."

It's "the age-old adage," he said. "They cannot be hurt by ignoring California. They can only be harmed by calling attention to it." With that in mind, said Limbaugh, he's been thinking about a new strategy for Trump: "start going to California."

"I think he ought to go there once a month," he explained. "I think the Republican National Committee ought to schedule a debate in California. I think the campaign should have ads showing and highlighting the homelessness in downtown Los Angeles and pointing out that this is what happens when Democrats run things with no opposition, no checks, no balances."

Can we afford the security for that visit?

I mean the security people would have to treat Kalifornia like a ‘foreign’ country

Create infighting in your enemy camp rather than using your energy in direct battle.

Turn Dem against Dem by pointing out the problems they created.

Good strategy.

Yup..!

Rush is correct.

HANMEN KYOUSHI:

In Japan that means “reverse teacher”.

That more or less means, Perfect Example of What NOT To Do.

That’s what California is, and lots of people in Calif think that, too.

Great idea! He should go to all of the states where he lost big, have massive rallys, just to scare the hell out of the democrats.

“Turn Dem against Dem by pointing out the problems they created”.

It’s a very good strategy but too many Dems/Libs cannot connect the dots. They don’t like it but can’t figure out why.

Many Californians hate what the state has become and want to leave or manage to leave. But most move on and repeat the process.

I’ve been preaching this for 20 years.

Glad to see someone/anyone pick up on the idea.

The Republican party if one really exists,... has surrendered California. Now people lament how Leftist it is.

Shaking head, what did they expect to happen to Conservatism in the state?

The rank and file can only do so much.

The Left bring in their top national figures to present a very lopsided view of what should be done in the state. It is heralded by all the media. Our side, crickets...

There has been no organized highly visible Conservative effort in the state.

Rank and file can make small inroads, but going up against an organized effort and the media, the rank and file will lose continually.

Only a person like the president can get the message out that needs to be gotten out.

There are plenty of ways to appeal to the Latino community, but no one has made that appeal from a highly visible platform.

Trump could hold rallies out here and fill up Dodger stadium if he wanted to.

Now that States are tying their EVs to the National Popular Vote, it makes sense for Trump to campaign in California, even if he doesn’t win the State, I believe there is a huge untapped source of Conservative voters there.

“Good” doc on Seattle. Trump needs to highlight this in a lot of places. Someone bring it to his attention. He needs to hammer it.

This problem has also spread to Colorado in the Denver area and other places. The more left a state gets, the worse things will be. We are essentially becoming L.A. of the Rockies.

Agreed. Go to LA and SF. Let the heathens rage and the people there imagine a vain thing.

If nothing else, it will be great TV for the rest of the country.

Burn time, money and energy on states he’ll never flip. Sounds like a plan. He can hammer the failure of CA anywhere.

We lived in California 5 times. 1988-1990 San Marino. 1997 Pasadena. 2002 Claremont. 2005-2007 Rancho Cucamonga. 2012-2013 Claremont again. Husband was chemical engineer, we were out there while he was part of a design group designing chemical plants to be built in Texas. (California was fun when you knew it was temporary) You would see about ONE homeless person in each town. Not a bevy of hobos. They seemed to be either druggies or needing their anti psychotic drugs. They would be talking to themselves, screaming loudly. Never a mess of tents! I heard that the main reason this is on west coast and not in NYC - NYC has WINTER.

I think Trump should visit and beside relaying the great economic achievements he should hit the communists Democrat pile of shi! that runs California. Good way to get the message what California has become, a socialists State.
