Morrissey, a colorful and controversial former Richmond prosecutor, served eight years in the House as a Democrat before vacating the seat for an unsuccessful challenge of Dance as an independent.
During his 30-year political career, he has brandished, sometimes literally, the image of “Fighting Joe” — a feisty populist who prides himself on serving constituents who are overlooked and underserved.
Morrissey’s reputation also includes a misdemeanor conviction of contributing to the delinquency of a minor involving relations with his then-17-year-old law firm employee, whom he later married. His wife became a prominent figure in his campaign and introduced him at the campaign kickoff in early April at the Satellite Restaurant in South Richmond.

Just freaking ‘lovely’. “Fighting Joe” resurrects his political career yet again, warts (jail time, disbarred) & all. The Dems are something else. Now VA has Gov. Coonman the infanticide proponent, Lt Gov Fairfax with his alleged rapes of 2 women, and AG Herring - virulent anti-2A & another self-admitted ‘blackface’ sort of a guy.
This country is so screwed. Pure and simple. I’ll do my damnedest to defend it, and I wish I even had a modicum of optimism, but I’ve been looking to close on some bugout property in July.

As an attorney, Morrissey was cited for contempt of court ten times and was jailed or arrested five times.[13] Records from the Virginia State Bar indicate that Morrissey received a public reprimand in March 1992, and had his law license suspended twice: once in December 1993 and then again in December 1999.[14]
On December 21, 2001, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Morrissey was disbarred and on April 25, 2003, his license to practice law was revoked by the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board.[3]
“Frequent episodes of unethical, contumacious, or otherwise inappropriate conduct mar Joseph D. Morrissey’s career as prosecutor and private defense attorney,” the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit noted in September 2002. The court said, “Evidence … demonstrates Morrissey’s 15-year history of contempt citations, reprimands, fines, suspensions, and even incarcerations arising from unprofessional conduct mostly involving an uncontrollable temper, inappropriate responses to stress and dishonesty.”[8][15]
On December 16, 2011, the Supreme Court of Virginia approved a petition for his reinstatement to the bar.[16] However, Morrissey remains ineligible to practice in the federal court

In other news in northern Virginia, two Soros-backed candidates beat incumbents for state’s attorneys positions in the Dim primaries. It only cost Soros a little over 500 grand each to get his “judicial reform” candidates over the line. Given the heavy Dim slant to those areas, both are likely to win in the general election.
And he was disbarred again one year ago.
Areas in the southern portion of the Richmond-Petersburg metro area, including the entire cities of Petersburg and Hopewell. A Virginia senate district encompasses approximately 200,000 persons. Petersburg is the blackest jurisdiction in Virginia, where close to 80% of the people there are African American.
When he was in the House of Delegates in 2015 or so, he was serving a six month jail sentence on “work release”, meaning that he attended the House during the day and reported to jail in the evenings. No democrat wanted to sit next to him in the House Chamber (a key scene in the movie “Dave” was filmed in that chamber).
