” God created the sun and the earth, and set them in their orbits, setting the length of a day”

Oh, then how long were the first three days before there was a sun?

“. God created the sun and the earth, and set them in their orbits, “

Not according to the Bible.

He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved.

“My favorite truth about radiometric dating is this: it is calibrated by tree rings. If your lab tests were calibrated by such a subjective, completely unreliable way.. certain death.”

Obviously you do not understand. But thanks for confirming.

The whole problem is resolved once it’s realised this statement, “Since the biblical timeline indicates a young earth that’s only about 6,000 years old,” is false.

I have been calibrating with extreme precision for more than 30 years. How long have you been at it. Yeah, in fact, i know more than many about real science of calibrating.

Oh, I see. I initially thought that tall people should date only tall people and short people date only short people, and so on. Nevermind.

"Not "young earther", (To God a day is like a thousand years), "

By "young earther", I was referring the places like the "Institute for Creation Research" who posit that the earth is X number of 24 hour days long, not to those who understand the difference between "God days" and "created universe days". On that point we are in agreement.

“I have been calibrating with extreme precision for more than 30 years. How long have you been at it.”

40 Years till I retired.

I have degrees in Nuclear Engineering and as a Test Engineer data acquisition and evaluation has been a big part of my career.

But you should get from your test bench and do some research.

“Yeah, in fact, i know more than many about real science of calibrating.”

I know more than many about brain surgery but I know enough to not pretend to be an expert.

I believe God created the earth. I'm just not sure how God created it or how long it took him. I leave that to the Master.

Nothing wrong with that. He didn't go into the particulars on how He put Adam, Eve, or the various flora/fauna either. Which is just fine with me.

Since the biblical timeline indicates a young earth that’s only about 6,000 years old

Musta missed those verses........ Don't see where the Lord of Time is constrained to any particular timeline.

The discovery of sulfur nodules in that area and the subsequent claim that this substantiates the biblical story of the divine destruction Sodom and Gomorrah is merely an instance of the "Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy" - perhaps mixed with "Circular Logic."

Obviously, Bronze Age nomadic tribesmen were aware of the sulfur nodules (which may have been more plentiful or accessible / nearer the surface, etc. three thousand years ago), knew that sulfur is flammable, and hence concocted a crazy story about how they got there.

For modern people to then point to the nodules as evidence supporting their claim of divine retribution is in any case fallacious.

Much reading doth make thee mad.

"In that area" ?

That was the first clue .... got any other areas ?

"Obviously" ?

Have you discovered a book, or perhaps you were there or maybe you're channeling your spirit guide.

I have a written account of an event, the reason and all the actors involved .... and LO ! .... BRIMSTONE "in that area"

Your modernity is a Texas sharpshooter fallacy.

I am not awake.

I thought this referred to people dating other people.

Then I started reading.

Please calm down! You are apparently very upset about my use of the phrase "in that area." If you don't like it, please feel free to disabuse me of my ambiguity and proffer a better descriptor. E.g., you could state its exact geographic coordinates.
