If Steele is not interviewed on US soil, there’s no reason for him to speak truthfully.
I know the Queen is "non-political" and very careful about her behavior, but just imagine is Steele got pulled directly into a meeting at Buckingham Palace and sat down with his monarch who asked him politely, on behalf of the crown, to be open and honest with the American authorities. I imagine, though she is limited in power, that she (and Trump) could make assurances to Steele that his cooperation now will ensure a good outcome for him later.
I don't know if he cares about the Queen, but I would think her wish might carry some weight with him. And I think the Queen has Trump's measure. I think she understands him. I think the Queen supports Trump and wants to see him drain the swamp.
Yeah right. Steele is going to testify that he created the dossier, out of whole cloth, that there were no “sources”, and that Hillary used laundered money to pay him for it. And that it was all done with the knowledge and approval of the CI/MI6/FBI.

I would. Queen Elizabeth is 93 years old, and has zilch for power with regard to the actual government of the UK.
This is just Trump schmoozing with the icons of society, which there is nothing wrong with.
I think that was a coincidence.
Her position had become untenable. Her own party was in open revolt against her, vote after vote for Brexit plans she was proposing failed. The Tory's were elected to effectuate the Brexit that the British people voted for, and she has failed to do so.
But the way she stayed on for two weeks so that she would still be PM when Trump came is interesting, and very well may have something to do with Spygate.

I keep seeing that but not sure that’s actually true.
The function of an Inspector General is to investigate allegations of wrongdoing or misconduct by both employees and contractors. It is my understanding that Steel may have been paid by the FBI, thereby effectively making him a contractor to the bureau. Since it would be hard for the IG to investigate a contractor without having some access to them, I wouldn’t rule out a Horowitz interview with Steele.
That said, there is little reason to think that Horowitz would do anything with the opportunity.
The President isn't going to insert himself for or against a witness.
