So, you’re a barista with a problem – you took out $200K student loans to get that master’s degree from Gumbo State in “LGBTQ2#v& Experiences as Reflected in 17th Century Bolivian Folk Songs” and now you can’t find an uncaffeinated career. Worse, those fascist monsters who you took money from based on your agreement to pay it back with interest now expect you to pay the money back with interest despite the fact that you really don’t feel like it anymore.
Well, I have a fresh solution to this crisis.
It’s an innovative strategy that totally and permanently resolves this problem in a new and exciting way.

How about you pay your own student debt?
That’s it. It’s as elegant as it is simple. You. Pay. Your. Own. Debts.
If you follow this bold, one-step program – the one step is you paying your debts – then you will eventually be debt-free. And best of all, I won’t have to pay any of your debts.
See, a lot of Democrat politicians are promising “free college,” but what they really mean is “free for you.” Someone has to pay, and that someone is me, and I need to level with you.
I am not interested in paying for your college.
Now, some may call me “greedy” or “selfish” for not wishing to work and then have the money I earned taken from me to provide things to you that you want but did not pay for instead of being able to spend it – the “it” being the money I earned – on things that I want. I am okay with that. I would much prefer having people who fundamentally misunderstand the concepts of greed and selfishness call me “greedy” and “selfish” than subsidize their educations, educations that evidently did not include learning about basic concepts like greed and selfishness.
I understand that your priorities for my money may differ from mine, but it being my money, my priorities should take precedence. Here is a short, partial list of things that I prioritize for my money over paying off your student loan debts:
1. A lease on a sweet German sedan
2. A delicious tri-tip sandwich
3. A walk-in humidor
4. Guns and ammo
5. A pedicure for my wife
6. A pedicure for me
7. A pedicure for my fat corgi Bitey
8. Literally anything else but your student loan debt
Now, those who support the idea of taking my money to give it to someone else so that someone else can have things he, she or xe wants rarely put it so bluntly. It’s never, “Well, I want this education but I don’t want to do the things necessary to pay for it. I want you other people to do the things necessary to pay for it.” Instead, it’s always put in some other way that makes them taking our money to spend on things they want appear as a favor to us, the people expected to do the work.
For instance, sometimes they say that us working to give other people free stuff is an “investment.” Again with the not understanding what words means…
Traditionally, with an investment, one gets a return on investment. No one ever explains what my return on investment for Kaden’s Marxist Puppetry degree might be, other than an occasional latte which I would still have to pay for. I prefer that I instead determine how to invest my own money in order to benefit myself, which I do not see as unreasonable since it is my money. Which I earned by working.
This is the beauty of my one-step student loan plan. It puts all this controversy aside. Pay your own student loan off. That’s it. End of discussion. Now get to work.
Note that I am not pointing out how I managed to fund my own education without asking strangers to chip in – actually, without forcing them to chip in, because if you don’t pay your taxes designed to fund “free college” people with guns will come to haul you away. The argument that “I paid for mine so you should pay for you own” is valid, but we need not even reach it. No one should ever be forced to give other people free stuff. It’s my money, and that’s reason enough why you can’t have it.
I certainly understand that academia is a scam and that the government allows lending to people who foolishly undertake debts that they cannot pay. I would stop it all – no government participation in the student loan industry and full bankruptcy dischargeability for student debts. Of course, this would mean many less people taking loans, and therefore fewer college students. No lose to society there. This means many colleges would actually start having to compete for students, and even – gasp – lower prices. Sounds good to me, though they would scream bloody murder – colleges have gotten fat off of loan money and many schools would go under without this pot of suckers’ cash. Oh well.
Sure, academia is a grift, but you did sign on the line that is dotted. You took the money. And I say that you pay it back instead of me.
Now, I have read many tales of woe from people who have taken out huge student loans and have not taken jobs that pay enough to support paying them off. Yes, this is a problem. But it is your problem.
Often, after I suggest my patented student loan debt resolution system – which is, in its entirety, “Pay your own debts” – people who have taken out debts they can’t pay will ask me “Well, how do I do that?”
And my answer is, “I don’t know, because it’s not my problem. It’s your problem. You’re an adult, with at least one degree, so you figure it out.”
See, it’s important to allocate responsibility. It is not my responsibility to provide a solution to your problems. Your problems are your problems. You solve them.
Now, I can provide some helpful suggestions, if you wish to hear them. You won’t like them, because all of them recognize that your problem is your problem, not mine, and all of them require you to do things that you would probably prefer not to do. These suggestions include:
1. Get a better job. You can thank President Trump for the record low unemployment rate. Sure, you might not be able to continue at your dream job because it does not pay enough, but too bad. I’d rather pay for my own dreams.
2. Get a second job. Yeah, that will cut into your free time. Better that than paying your debt off cutting into mine.
3. Spend less on things you enjoy in order to pay off your debt faster. Again, I would prefer you to sacrifice to pay off your debt instead of for me to sacrifice to pay off your debt.
There are probably other ways to pay off your debt, but I am not going to spend my time thinking about them. After all, your student debt is your problem, so you spend time thinking about how to pay it off.
Now, let me once more provide you with my student debt solution.
Here it is again.
Pay your own student debt.
Creating a debtor class of over-educated, under-smart serfs with gender studies degrees is another Cloward-Piven-seque ploy to undermine our society in the pursuit of the socialist Utopia our garbage ruling class seeks to command. Of course, this would be a Utopia built of envy, incompetence and lies. Kurt, I agree. I worked during my four years of undergraduate studies (mainly summers and one term as a Geology student assistant/researcher).
The same for graduate school (parents helped when I was out of work).
Paid for my AA in Police Science. Got two loans for my Paralegal School/Certification (and have been working in that skill for about 30 years).
No outsider gave me a free ride nor did I ever expect them to do so. Family helped but I carried the bulk of the repayments on my own (plus being married and having children).
Now some student loan recipients can do a few things that would cut down their lack of cash for repaying their loans, including STOP SMOKING. At about $5.00 a pack minimum, you could save anywhere from $5.00 - $30.00 a week.
The same for Starbuck coffee and lattes. 7-11 reportedly has very good coffee or buy a can for yourself. Tea is cheaper and better, JFYI.
Stop eating out 3 times a day. Make your own breakfast - cereal, toast, eggs and bacon, etc. OJ, Milk. pack a good sandwich and bring Ice Tea from home. Soda machines are getting more expensive. If not, buy a 6 pack or more. Cuts the costs of a soda/ice tea, etc in half.
Stay off of expensive internet sites and services. They cost too damned much in the first place for crap and more crap.
Share rides/costs when necessary.
Iron your own shirts, guys. I was one of only two guys on my dorm floor in colleague who knew how to iron shirts. Saved me a fortune in cleaner costs.
Don’t own a car if you have decent transportation where you live. A big cost that you don’t realize until you need gas, repairs, taxes, licenses, insurance, etc. There will be time later to have that. Or get a jalopy for puttering around campus or to work/home. Thieves don’t usually steal a crappy looking bland car. Keeps your insurance rates down.
Parse out your time for classes, studying, work, and some entertainment. A good balance takes a lot of strain off of you. Exercise is good too, even if it is only walking.
Marry a rich person! In your dreams.
Using common sense is probably the best approach to handling your college finances. If you family has a financial advisor, talk to them. See if your college has one you can talk to.
And lastly, don’t get some halfassed degree in Genderbender/LGBTXYZBLT and Sanskrit. There aren’t many jobs out there in those fields.
My daughter got a paralegal degree on her own, plus other legal training. My son got a degree in “Fighting for Freedom” in Iraq. He has the VA loans program if he wants to go back to school (he’s learning a whole new trade on the job after having served as a policeman. He’s got good technical skills and wants to keep learning. His employer is paying for it). They are not slackers or borrowers unless they have too.
Try some of the above. You’ll like it when it pays off is less worry, debt, and stupid choices.

I paid for my education. I paid for my wife’s education. I paid for my children’s education.
I’m not going to pay for some dead beat liberals education just because they don’t want to.
They borrowed the money and they need to pay it back.
Responsibility is a word that the left does not know the meaning of.
At that time in university fees were reasonable. Today tuition costs are insane. They are insane because of much largess via loans given to students. The universities then inflate the costs of tuition because they know the students can get loans to cover their insane fees. The few that graduate in science, engineering and medicine are left with much debt but can repay it. Those that graduate in liberal courses obtain a degree but without much viable skills and a huge debt that they probably can not repay.
The real problem is to much government guaranteed loans to students. This is what drives the insane increases in tuition.
It has been a round robin of foolishness, in which all, even the big shot snarkers, have had some hand in.
Unless there is a compromise, the nation will not remain united.
In a land promising such freedoms as it has, Christianity (and its ancestral Judaism) are the only viable choice for a pattern. Jubilee years happened every 50 years for a reason, not just because it’s pretty on a calendar. This way, debts couldn’t last past two or three generations.
Putting government in the place of an eternal father has a price in freedom to everybody...
Let the right inveigh “righteously” all it wants — America needs to mutually sacrifice in digging itself out of an ungodly racket. Period. What “deadbeats” don’t like pales next to what God does not like. What God says simply is that let him who stole steal no more, but do something useful with his hands so that he may have something to share with those in need. Nothing about making up what is lost to the sands of time and folly.
When America rediscovers the jubilee year, there will be jubilation all around. What is this grudge costing us? Things on an eternal scale, that’s what.
Community college and state university can still get you where you want to go, but you have to work at it.
The Bernies and others who want a “free higher education system” should implement the system in Germany:
1. Shut down 75% to 90% of American colleges
2. End all useless courses - I don’t see any “gender studies” in German universities
3. Close dorms, wasted money on sports teams, millions spent on coaches etc. - you’re there to learn, nothing else
4. Make the entry purely competitive and no sports, quotas etc. - if this means the colleges are then 50% asian and 20% Jewish, so be it.
5. Improve apprenticeships etc - plumber shops across the USA are crying for apprentices for jobs starting at $60K pa
This will end the arms race for degrees. The money saved can be used for so much more
I dare to observe that this is a sign of a breaking point that can never be spanned by continuing to think in worldly terms. A world that can think no better things than snark (and it matters naught whether the snark comes from left or right) is a world that, absent repentance towards God (talk about an unmeetable debt!) will spend eternity living with Satan. Oh the right in such an ungodly split may have better finances — all the better to buy its way to hell! The left will merely be penurious hypocrites — the crowd that Jesus was sneered at for paying friendly visits to.
The “nothing else” crowd, as usual, forgets that God has authored a larger life. The dispute is about what that larger life should look like. Schools will not find godly sense till the nation does, but then no philosopher-kings will be needed to order them to behave accordingly.
I took 18 hours of courses a semester and went to summer school.
I also did it without any student loans. I worked three jobs and poured all on my money into school tuition and living expenses.
I was always broke and hungry. Starving student. No car. Walked or rode an old bike. Shopped at the thrift store for used clothes. I didn't waste money on beer, cigarettes or socializing.
All I did was study and work. Slept very little, 3-4 hours a night usually. I did exercise and became a long-distance runner during college. It was free.
When I graduated, I went into the military. I had no debt and no assets. But I had a useful degree and my whole future ahead of me without depending on someone else to pay my way.
When Obama nationalized the student loan program, tuitions and student loan balances went through the roof. No competition among financial institutions. Loans guaranteed by the government. What could possibly go wrong with this taste of socialism?

Kurt should look up the concept of “odious debt” before he hurts himself virtue-signaling.
IMO you have to be a complete psychopath to have no sympathy whatsoever for the student population, who are as savagely and viciously preyed on by the system to a degree that would shock the conscience of anyone who had one.
