The law is the law. If you’re going to have laws, then they should apply to anyone and everyone in all circumstances with the same punishments. The fact that someone is wearing a particular garb, has a particular title or job function or professes some particular belief should mean nothing whatsoever.
If it’s wrong to molest kids, and you know someone has molested kids, you either go to the authorities immediately, or you are an accessory; why the hell should it matter if you’re an imam, a priest, a social worker, a cop, a soldier, a judge or just a person off the street.
The state has no business in the relationship between a person and God, but no matter what God someone believes in they should have to adhere to the same laws as anyone else.
Yep, that’s right. The State above all things. All bow before Government Almighty.
So you’re fine with adults diddling little kids?
Yes, and “Red Herring”, too.
Either you are OK with adults molesting kids or you aren’t.
Kind of sounds like you are, since you are prattling some BS about some ‘all powerful state’ or such.
Laws are laws.
1-It’s Illegal to molest children
2-If you know of someone molesting children and don’t report it, you are an accessory.
3-The fact you are a priest, imam, cop, or anything else should note mean a damned thing.
Good. That means you know your thinly veiled accusations against me are both false and illogical. Objection to the State endlessly expanding its power does not imply approval of homosexual rape of children (or any other crime). In your case, it takes no violation of logic to observe that you are openly advocating an all-powerful State overwhelming all aspect of the civil society.
As crimes go, there's nothing "special" about rape. A State which can demand that all of its subjects report suspicion of one particular crime to it can just as easily demand that its subjects report any other suspected crime even if the "crime" in question is violation of a clearly unjust law. Today, it's rape of children that you want to compel people to report. Tomorrow, it will by ownership of a "prohibited" firearm. Or some other unjust law. The principle is the same.
You and others like you need to carefully think through the unintended consequences of your proposed actions. The fact that this mandatory reporting bill in question is being proposed by communist demoncRATs in the Peoples' Republic of California should give you pause. These people do NOT have the good of the Republic in mind.
No accusation. Merely the implication that the logical extension of objecting to mandatory reporting is condoning.
If you know a kid is being diddled, as a human being, you are obligated to stop it, or at least report it. If not, you approve.
A person implicitly approves of any behavior they know of and do not attempt to stop.
1) That is an illogical extension.
2) Mandatory reporting is a tool of tyranny.
Tyranny harms far more people than rape.
If you want to live in tyranny, get out of my Constitutional Republic.
If you want kid diddlers to go free, maybe you aren’t the sort of person who deserves a Republic.
“Mandatory reporting is a tool of tyranny” is merely a claim, not a fact. If you know something is going on, and don’t stop it, you are guilty of the same, and should pay the same price.
All within the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State.
