Former FBI Director James Comey wrote an op-ed on Tuesday denying the FBI ever spied on President Trump’s campaign in 2016 and claiming it was “just good people trying to figure out what was true, under unprecedented circumstances.”
Comey wrote in the Washington Post:
But go ahead, investigate the investigators, if you must. When those investigations are over, they will find the work was done appropriately and focused only on discerning the truth of very serious allegations. There was no corruption. There was no treason. There was no attempted coup. Those are lies, and dumb lies at that. There were just good people trying to figure out what was true, under unprecedented circumstances.
His defense is coming as Attorney General William Barr is reviewing the origins of the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign and ahead of a Justice Department inspector general report that is expected to be concluded next month into whether there was FBI bias in its investigation.

Comey called media outlets who are reporting on potential FBI wrongdoing “fringe,” and claimed the FBI was just doing its job.

The text messages between Strzok and Page don’t speak of “good people” just trying to do a good job.
They explicitly said they were out to get the President and that the White House wanted to be kept current.
I predict the Comey report from the DOJ IG on June 3.
Based on Comey’s actions I think we are in the “notification period” where those who are named in an IG report are notified of the pending release of information.
Oh “conspiracy theory”. That’s the term literally invented by the CIA to use against people who thought the official story of JFK was untrue.
Comey tried the J Edgar Hoover routine against Trump. The old “Gosh, we happened to stumble across this embarrassing information about you and thought you would want to know it’s out there. Don’t worry, it’ll be safely stored in our files”.
Trash. Pure thug trash.
But he tried it on a man who cut his teeth on New York real estate. Big mistake.
No matter what gets declassified now the talk will be impeachment 24/7 ignoring the damaging docs...whoever was advising Trump to hold off on releasing the docs just did him a grand disservice!! Kept hearing middle of the week, no tomorrow, no today and so on on releasing them...well it looks like the swamp had the last say or shall I say beat him to the punch!!! Infuriating! A well thought out plan by the swamp! Let’s see how and how effective Barr’s counter punch will be!!
