I haven't heard of any particular problems with CC in Chitcago, but I haven't really paid much attention to what goes on in that chithole either.

It’s easier than it used to be. The bans on firearms were deemed unconstitutional by our supreme court, and you have to have a valid FOID (requiring $10 for the background check and submission of a current photo) along with 40 hours of training by a licensed instructor (community colleges offering courses to become security guards cover this) and a $200 fee. Gotta collect those dollars.
It’s all handled by the state police, and everything is done online unless you call and have paperwork sent to you. In which case, it takes 90 days instead of 30 to confirm all of your information. I’m considering applying for an FFL license, honestly. It’d save some time.
