DUDley pretty much killed that for us single handedly. When he says “no compromise” he means never satisfied.

Nothing good comes from anything that DUDley Brown is involved in.

ATF is basically anti-gun, so this is not much of a surprise.

Rocky Mountain Gun Owners might disagree, but you are from the area so I’m not arguing.

I was a member of RMGO for a brief time. They never accomplished anything I know of, but they have harmed RKBA because of DBs strident approach.

My state rep is a strong pro 2A guy and he can’t stand DB. We could have had our 15 round mag limit at least changed to 30 so AR mags would be legal, but DB sunk that effort because it wasn’t pure enough for him. DB ain’t your friend.

I’m not arguing against the idea it stinks.

The President has advisors who pull in suggestions from various entities. We know there is an intrenched deep state. It isn’t limited to Congress, the intelligence agencies, the State Department, and the media.

Among various other entities, there arises the NGO element of this. The non-goverment organization who also have an axe to grind in part.

The President gets a list and of course the leave out the important information.

Who is going to tell him this guy is a flake?

You’d hope someone would intervene, but I don’t think that always happens.

Someone needs to get the word to Trump this guy is a non-starter of the worst order.

Trump is wrong to appoint him. I just think it’s a lot tougher to vet these folks from the Oval Office than we think. You and I would probably make some mistakes.

Well yes we would if they had risen above the background noise enough for us to. If they hadn’t, we’d be snowed too.

I agree with your logic most of the way.

At the same time I do want to draw attention to the fact this is a law enforcement enterprise. A person does need to have a solid lengthy background in the law enforcement process > IMO.

They need to know what is/should and is not/should not be accepted from their agents.

Agree completely. A sensible leader is a sensible leader. He or she doesn’t need to know everything or anything, for that matter, about what kind of guns they want or criminal procedure. They just have to see the broader picture and guide the organization in the right direction and identify leaders within the organization that can advise on the little things.

We’re pretty close to agreement.

People with years of law enforcement background know what they can and cannot order their people to do in pursuit of a criminal.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tabacco, and Firearms is a law enforcement organization. So their leader needs to know enforcement law.

Simply an excellent executive officer without Law Enforcement procedural background, would mean this guy would have to defer to staff on major policy decisions concerning raids, apprehensions, or simple surveillance.

You mentioned several categories of people in your first post, I’d have no problem at all signing on to occupy this position.

Thank you for your thoughts on this.

Everything has to be thoroughly vetted these days. Glad my input was useful.

The “we” is a quote from your post 14. Check that, it is from the link posted in your 14. Something from SAF I gather, and which I agree with.

OK, thanks. There was no distinction between the quote and your words so I wasn't sure.

They are doing exactly what they are accusing NAGR of, ...

Your words I presume. I disagree completely.

Trump’s son is one of us and has his ear.

Too bad we can't seem to get any traction on the stupidity of having supressors as an NFA 'weapon'. It is a public health issue, yet no one seems to be able to even get it on the table.

This is one area Trump is clearly getting bad advice. The bump stock ban was NOT meaningless as many head in sand types here thought it was.

If he screws up big on gun control, and he seems like he’s itching too, it’ll cost him the election in 2020.

I won’t even vote for him. I have two red line issues: abortion and guns. If you get either of those wrong, you can’t be right enough on anything else to get my vote.

Both issues speak to a candidate’s value of human life. If you’re wrong on abortion, you don’t value human life. If you don’t care if you make it so that people can’t defend themselves, then you don’t care if they die.

In either case, you are a monster and a traitor to your nation and an affront before God.

I have. It’s a legit pro 2A organization. Small compared to NRA, FPC, or GOA.
