Bush Admin Sold 'American Taliban' John Walker Lindh's Plea Deal As A Win For America. Now He’s Free
Daily Caller ^ | May 24, 2019 | Peter Hasson

Former President George W. Bush’s administration sold the 2002 plea deal with John Walker Lindh, an American who joined the Taliban, as a victory in the war on terror that would make the American people safer.

But 17 years later, Lindh is out of prison, and his praise for terrorists while in prison has experts concerned he might still pose a threat.

....

McNulty said the government was “quite confident that if we had gone to trial, we would have prevailed on all counts,” transcripts show.

McNulty was specifically asked if the government could have proven that Lindh conspired to kill Americans if the case had gone to trial. His answer: "Yes"

Well he talked a good game, and sure had me fooled for a while

I remember you and I shouting into the wilderness about that little rodent W, as his coterie of sycophants here published Day in the Life threads worshiping him. Those were terrible years.

As soon as he called the Satanic political totalitarian death cult a “religion of peace”, that should’ve been the warning bell that this guy was on the wrong side.

I probably didn’t start in on him early enough. I gave him “respect” until his departure, but he really screwed us. Remember that being “disrespectful” of Shrub could earn you a “ZOT” prior to 1/20/2009. The photo threads from the sycophants was nauseating enough. This “wonderful family” couldn’t rush over fast enough to support the Clintoon Crime Family. The daughters are 100% in the Demonrat Derp State camp (think Jenna, who looks like Shrub in drag, would have a nice cushy job at NBC if she could think for herself ?). The whole damn family sold us out.

That “RoP’ comment didn’t feel right to me, either.

However, in my naiveté on international relations it seemed that #43 wanted to establish another coalition as did #41, and to get said cooperation from that part of the world, a nod to islam seemed to be in order. So I let it pass.

In hindsight, I was wrong, but I’ll bet a large percent of America’s opinion lined up with mine . . . AT THE TIME

I rationalized it as saying “nice doggie” when confronted with a snarling mongrel, something you say while looking for a big rock. Later I came to realize he had set us back 25 years in properly addressing the problem.

Why use civilian courts. Thse people are military. There is no “statute of limitation” on their commitment to do harm.

Prison is not punishment for them but detention.

I despise all of those morons in the Bush administration, but I wouldn’t hold this one against them. This dope never should have come back from Afghanistan alive. Charging someone with a crime in a foreign country over an incident involving CIA personnel is a dicey affair, and leaves the prosecution in a position where they constantly have to deal with questions about dropping charges due to the sensitivity of evidence.

I was lurking back then but do remember a great sense of either you like W or you liked Gore or Lurch. That was an easy choice, notwithstanding W wasn't great.

Soo...how do you feel we will all feel in a decade about Trump? Candidly, while it is early days, I feel Trump and Deplorablism is more in line with my thinking than W and his tepid form of "conservatism." On my deathbed, the Gipper will likely be my favorite president in my life but Trump will likely be a close #2. I may have to pick Ford as #3 as it gets to be slim pickings thereafter.

No matter how bad W screwed things up, it’s nothing compared to how bad Al Gore or John Kerry (did you know he served in Vietnam) would have screwed things up.

It was always the problem that if you dared criticize the Booshies or McQueeg or Willard the Rat, you’d get attacked by the sycophants claiming you were working for Manbearpig, Lurch or Zero. Heaven forfend that they were ALL unworthy of the office of the President.

Trump has already demonstrated he is a far better President than anyone since Reagan and may exceed him (if only because Reagan’s worst sin was elevating the Bush family horror to power). Reagan had the foreign evil empire to fight, Trump has the domestic evil derp state empire to fight, which is a lot more personal, ugly and treacherous, and half the country has been so dumbed-down by indoctrination and lies by “Big Ed”, the media and the pop culture and the Derp State operatives.

One term of either those buffoons would’ve sent the country running back to the GOP. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the Republican would’ve sadly been a Derp State RINO who would’ve then sent the country right back to the Demonrats. Tweedle Derp and Tweedle Derper.

It was stupid.

Knew it at the time. Never made sense. He should have gotten life at the least.

As far as Bush, if he hadn’t been President, Lindh would stil be in Afghanistan with the Taliban still in power.

-- Well he talked a good game, and sure had me fooled for a while --

It's always relative anyway. The alternatives were Gore and Kerrey. The elite class has a lock on who rises to that level, and resists independent, America-first candidates at all levels. Favored are "smooth talkers" who can be manipulated according to globalist puppet-master's vision. That vision is taught at the elite schools, and "naturally" overcomes opposition, without being guided day-by-day.

Yep, but Al Gore would have been in office on 9/11. And John Kerry would have handed Iraq to Al Qaida on a silver platter.
