Members of congress have immunity from slander and libel charges while in the halls of congress.
However I suspect that outside on the street, as when being interviewed b the press, they lose that immunity and can be charged with libel or slander.
Why are the republicans so timid about making congress critters responsible for their bad behavior?
Accusing President Trump of being a Russian agent and of intentionally killing immigrant babies on the street is a totally different matter from making the same remarks in a congressional session.
