Amash faces fresh GOP primary challenge after Trump impeachment comments
Fox News ^ | 5/20/2019 | Ronn Blitzer

Less than 48 hours after GOP Rep. Justin Amash declared that President Trump "engaged in impeachable conduct," a fellow Republican has vowed to challenge him in the upcoming primary election.

Michigan state Rep. Jim Lower made his intentions known Monday morning, announcing that instead of seeking a third term in the state legislature, he will run against Amash for their party's nomination for the 2020 election. Amash has served as the representative for Michigan's Third District since 2011.

This is most of what was Gerald Ford's former district, in Grand Rapids.

I've never quite been comfortable with Amash. The stories now out about his family's interest in importing tools from China, but stamping "U.S.A." on them, makes it all understandable now. Trump takes a hard line against China, adding tariffs, and Amash calls for Trump's impeachment.

Yeah, right, nothing to see here...

The GOP needs to eject him from the Party.

F*** a primary challenge.

In the House of Commons, a party can “withdraw the whip” (kick ‘em out). That’s what needs to happen here.

Any of you Michigan folk know whether Jim Lower is “acceptable” to we conservatives/constitutionalists/non-globalists?

I’ve never visited Grand Rapids but from what I’ve read/heard, it’s a whole different world from Detroit/Flint.

In other words, lots of normal Americans. State Rep. Lower should have a good shot unseating Amash, I should hope.

If he backs Pres. Trump we should support his campaign with some campaign contributions.

Amash has always been a jerk.

He just kicked it up a notch.

It seems like centuries of surviving among Islam has made Christian Arabs just as devious and deceptive as musselmen.

In his 2017 financial disclosure forms (pdf here), Representative Amash reports income of between $100,000 to $1,000,000/yr. for his ownership stake in Michigan Industrial Tools. Michigan Industrial Tools is the parent company, manufacturing in China, that produces Tekton Tools, Justin Amash’s Michigan family business.

But we don't have a House of Commons, thankfully. He is another teas party candidate and a member of the House Liberty Caucus which consist of:

Justin Amash of Michigan, Chair
Paul Gosar of Arizona
Morgan Griffith of Virginia
Thomas Massie of Kentucky
Warren Davidson of Ohio
Jim Jordan of Ohio
Scott Perry of Pennsylvania
Andy Biggs of Arizona

The only one I am familiar with is Jim Jordan, and I like him. Obviously Amash is someone I wouldn't miss if this person who will primary against him. wins the seat.

Amash is just trying to make a name for himself while protecting his investments in China, however, if he is this stupid he loses my support, forever more.

Is he stupid, or blinded by his Chinese-made wealth?

Either way, bad. He deserves deep investigating, a full probing.

Amash seems to be another Spencer Abraham- one of the Michigan Arab posse whose loyalties are elsewhere.

Spencer Abraham was an Open Borders Republican who was more interested in his fellow Arabs than he was in everyday Americans.

He talked Dubya into prohibiting the profiling that Clinton had allowed airlines to do because it was allowing them to screen Arabs. So once that was gone there was nothing that airline employees could when the 9-11 hijackers gave them the creeps.

Not familiar with Lower, but the MI district Amash represents is slowly becoming more liberal just because of demographics. The district has been a R stronghold because of the settling of Reformed Calvinists from the 1850’s on. Grand Rapids is now the hottest real estate in MI and the millennials are flooding in and thereby changing the district’s landscape. Like many other big cities, GR is blue but the rural areas of District 3 carry the election. What has some affect on this conversation is that MI recently passed a ballot measure to allow a “bipartisan” commission(appointed by the left wing governor Whitmer) to redo the districts. I’m sure D3 is on the Dems radar.

Perfect location for a Trump rally in Michigan about 3 weeks before the primary. The Donald could introduce and endorse Amash’s republican challenger and seal the deal. Wouldn’t take too many votes in the primary to dump this cat.

Jerk refuses to call in to our talk radio station, 95.3, to answer to his CONSTITUENTS. I’m so angry at him. I have not voted for him the past 2 times, and will look into working for the challenger.

Most likely, some smart guy (not Amash) has decided that he can’t survive a Republican primary (he didn’t have an opponent in the 2018 primary), so he is getting ready to declare that he is now a Democrat because of the evil, criminal Donald Trump. The Dems will hand his nomination on their ballot on a silver platter and the race will be decided during the General, and the Dems will flood the zone with money, labor goons, and lots of favorable media coverage.

So this pathetic excuse for a Republican is simply a globalist protecting HIS interests which involve selling out America.

Sounds like he is pissed BECAUSE TRUMP IS ENACTING TARIFFS THAT APPLY TO CHINESE PRODUCTS THAT AMASH IMPORTS. Good, I hope this Chamber of Commerce Globalist’s business goes belly up because of inability to compete with his competitors who produce domestically or import from other Non-Chinese sources.

“she just destroyed you. All for a piece of tail“

That sector of the economy doesn’t receive enough notice, especially since Heartiste has been kicked off Wordpress.

A job in Congress is nothing. Jeff Bezos just paid $36 Billion-with-a-B to have a fling with a woman who is three points below his wife on a 0-10 scale.

Any port in a storm and all, I know, but $36 BILLION???
