Why would an automobile manufacturer who was laying off employees "globally," not just in America, want to undermine Trump who is trying to retrieve automobile manufacturing to Michigan?

I moved from Seattle to KY 8 years ago. One thing about auto manufacturing I’ve discovered:

There is a huge Toyota plant in Georgetown. They make Camry’s there and I don’t know what else.

All Corvettes are made in Bowling Green, KY.

There is a Massive Ford truck manufacturing plant in the SE Louisville area.

According to Open Secrets, Ford appears to butter their bread on BOTH sides when it comes to political contributions, but leans just a tad to the Right.

Pensions.

It is eating them alive. And they (Ford) had some pretty bad engine issues. I have a Ford. Cam phasers issue led to a new motor (thank God I have a friend who can help with that!)

Next truck will be a Nissan or Toyota. Came from a GM family but that bridge burned long ago.
