Great point. It was not mentioned in the ESPN article however the police report is public record and that would probably be mentioned only if the gun was used. Kinda like when a cop tackles a suspect and never draws his or her firearm it is assumed that the cop HAD a gun but opted not to use it. Lol.

ESPN can’t allow the “good guy with a gun stopped the bad guy” theme in the story, if true.
Of course, Lowe sounds exactly like somebody that would’ve tackled the bad guy regardless.
