A White House plan to reform the country’s legal immigration system includes a provision that mandates the use of E-Verify to prevent employers from hiring illegal aliens over American citizens.
Mandatory E-Verify, pro-American immigration reformers previously said, was crucial to any immigration plan unveiled by the White House as, currently, American workers are forced to compete against illegal aliens for working class jobs in a majority of states that do not mandate the use of E-Verify.
“Even though the plan doesn’t reduce numbers overall, it contains no amnesty or guest worker increases, mandates E-Verify, and addresses the wholesale abuse of our asylum policies,” the Federation for American Immigration Reform’s (FAIR) RJ Hauman told Breitbart News.
In states that have implemented mandatory E-Verify, the program has resulted in fewer jobless Americans, the most recent study by FAIR has found.
Mandatory E-Verify continues to be one of the most popular national immigration policies across party lines and the American electorate. In November 2018 exit polling by Zogby Analytics for FAIR, a total of 75 percent of American voters said they support mandatory E-Verify to prevent businesses from hiring illegal aliens over U.S. workers.
This includes a majority of Democrats, nearly 55 percent; more than 90 percent of Republicans, and nearly 80 percent of swing voters who support mandatory E-Verify. Across all demographic groups, mandatory E-Verify enjoys majority support. More than 80 percent of white Americans, nearly 74 percent of Asian Americans, 58 percent of Hispanic Americans, and nearly 53 percent of black Americans support the implementation of mandatory E-Verify to shore up jobs for American citizens.

Strong, loophole free E-Verify is a crucial tool
Unfortunately this won’t be passed with a Dem House — and then after 2020 there will be a question again as to whether it can be passed with a RINO House and Senate.
E-Verify is so widely accepted, that I expect a watered down version with that title to be passed, but as you say, probably not until the next Congress.
My question is how will they water it down?
This makes far too much sense and is supported by far too many Americans to ever become law.
They need to start AUDITING companies in exactly the same way Louis Lerner did to pre-2016 conservative PAC’s with “Freedom” in their names.
Companies using Modern Slavery need to be fined stiffly for every illegal they enslave, for each day of that enslavement:

Passing the buck (and costs) to businesses for a job the fed gov can and should be doing.
It’s a great idea and way overdue. Any employer paying an illegal and did not e verify should lose everything and spend 5 years in jail.

ICE will still need to force deport the drug dealer/criminal class, but everyone else will just leave.

Democrats are going into 2020 with a failed politician whose only accomplishment was asset forfeiture and was Obama’s wing man for 8 years. Plus he is older then President Trump, whiter then Trump, actually does the things that President Trump claimed in a secret recording (touchy feely) and might be mentally damaged. And plus calling President Trump WACIST 24/7.

There is no way to hire enough government employees to track illegals. There are about 40 million of them in the country with another million entering annually.

Some news outlet had a story yesterday that the government was going to be sending letters to employers letting them know that there were problems with employees and their SS#s. I know someone who got such a letter over a month ago, she had 7 employees whose names or ages didn’t match their #s. She talked to them all and asked them to see if they had made some kind of mistake, 6 of them never showed up again.
Trump is quietly doing things that will cause illegals to lose their ability to work and live on our dime. Carson is starting to kick them out of HUD housing and I’m sure there are other measures being taken, even if he can’t get a bill.

“Job” means you get paid.
Businesses, afaik, won’t be paid for e-verify.
