So, is this a trial balloon to see if the media accepts and endlessly parrots this excuse, or is this really the excuse he wants to go with? There is already plenty of evidence (and likely testimony) that discredited the dossier and its authors before the first FISA warrant, and I suspect there is plenty more to come. His "legitimately thought (it) was true" excuse clearly rings false.

I think there are several out there who will “eat” something before they’ll ever submit to going to jail. Rush was talking about people fleeing the country .... I think some will take a different ‘escape’ route. Barr, Durham et al are just beginning to turn the screws.
