Democrats Start To Perceive Debacle They Face
New York Sun ^ | May 14, 2019 | Conrad Black

Posted on 05/16/2019 5:44:23 AM PDT by billorites

The full proportions of the debacle that awaits the Democrats next fall is starting to penetrate their complacent disdain and revulsion toward President Trump. Rank-and-file Democrats are so ecstatic at the arrival of a known candidate whose views on principal policy issues cannot be invoked by Republicans to frighten children into eating their breakfast cereal that they have accorded Joe Biden a levitation in the polls. Click Image to Enlarge

Mr. Biden is a shopworn, moth-eaten, malapropistic journeyman about whom, when asked to assess him as a potential president, former bipartisan defense secretary and CIA director Robert Gates took four seconds to emit: “I don’t know.” In the land of the Ocasio-Cortez sound-alikes, a track-worn perennial candidate is king.

Given how verbally accident-prone Mr. Biden has been throughout his nearly 50 years of public life, his present formidable lead in the polls against an immense field of candidates should be seen as the fulfilment of Democratic yearning for someone who would not alarm the voters in policy terms. The only other such candidate is the relatively unknown Amy Klobuchar.

All Americans, even the president’s most strenuous supporters, should be comforted that the majority of Democrats can still think and count. It is a party infested with lunatics, but not controlled by them.

edit

China is a debt-ridden house of cards built on what is still a 40% command economy, rotten with official corruption in a country with few natural resources and 300 million people who still live as their ancestors did a thousand years ago.

Barring something completely unforeseeable, this president will have a stronger argument for reelection next year than any president since Richard Nixon in 1972 after his extraordinarily successful first term, if not Franklin D. Roosevelt’s double reelections in 1936 and 1944.

The Dims have sold their souls over their collective hatred of President Trump. Their only policy stance over the past 2-1/2 years has been resistance. That’s not a successful platform to run on.

Democrats are banking on Biden to beat Trump (cue laugh machine here).

CONRAD BLACK: "Mr. Biden is a shopworn, moth-eaten, malapropistic journeyman.......
but...In the land of the Ocasio-Cortez sound-alikes, a track-worn perennial candidate is king."

THIS JUST IN: Biden's staff is kept busy hustling Biden away from reporters.
Biden told one senior staffer he was dying to tell voters about the email he got from Elvis.

The DNC is “... a party infested with lunatics, but not controlled by them.”

I’m not so sure about THAT!

It has always looked like lunacy is THE prerequisite for leading the DNC...and it’s an even more significant qualifier lately!

Spot on.

They didn’t even talk about pulling us out of the disastrous Iran deal, finally pointing out what freeloading weasels the Yurps are, pulling us out of the disastrous Paris Agreement, or “bombing the chit out of” and crushing goat effer state as promised.

Get outside the glitzy cities and go to the hinterlands of China, there’s still plenty of ancient living remaining (India too)

BTW your picture must have been taken on one of the few days the weather was clear in Shanghai ... China has a LOT of dirty factories and coal-burning plants, so the pollution there is usually horrendous

You don’t know what you are talking about.

I live in China. Right now, I am looking outside my window right now. Sure it’s night, but the stars are out and we have a really nice sea breeze. Humid, but all day’s been pretty steamy.

I’ve got a couple of those black grackle-like birds chilling in the bamboo, and the Banyan tree is swaying in a light breeze.

Yes, if you go to the industrial areas, you will deal with pollution. But dude, China is not one enormous factory. It has all sorts of regions. Some are polluted and some are pristine. It depends where you go. hey! Does 100% of America look like Detroit?

Check out my FR profile won’t ya.

You have a government that spies on you, can arrest you at any time for no reason. No thanks.

BTW, gotta be honest here, there’s a lot of fugly buildings in picture #3 ... to me, a lot of these “new-architecture” cities - like those in China, Malaysia, Dubai, etc. - just reek of artificiality, just seem like a forced copy of New York ... maybe it’s just me

One reporter managed to get to Biden....
he asked Joe how many campaign stops he was planning.

Biden replied: "Campaign stops? Wait a sec, am I running for something?"

Sounds like the Pittsburgh Pirates need to offer him a contract.

“his present formidable lead in the polls”

That reminds me of a report a few months ago about an island that was being covered by the sea. Without reading the article it sounds like rising sea levels, but actually it’s because the island is sinking.

Never count your chickens before they are hatched.

There may be more of "us". But we have to get enough of us to vote to overcome the democrat fraud.

We need to do as democrats do. Go through the voter checklist to see what republicans didn't vote in the last election and contact them.

Ask those who didn't vote what it would take to get them to vote in the upcoming election.

Offer rides or help them with absentee ballots, whatever it takes to get them to vote.

Then look for anyone who has died and is still on the checklist and get them removed so democrats can't vote for them.

I bought two copies of our town checklist this week in .PDF form, e- mailed to me. $25 each.

Used my own money, I don't give to the repub party as I have a VERY dim view of the state party and RNC. I got the 2019 current checklist and the list of people who voted in the 2016 election.

Going through them to see which registered repubs and dems didn't vote. Then to contact them and see if they need rides, etc.

We need to do this at the grass roots level, just you and me and anyone else we can get to help.

I’m pretty sure this vannrox is part of China’s “50cent army.”
They make money by going online and either attacking critics of China and Xi or writing things to make China look better than it is.

As the web is tightly censored in China access to the outside world is denied to the average person. Bloggers do get around it by various means. The most common, and illegal, is the use of VPN’s.
Another way is to be part of the system and get paid for posting anything favorable about the PRC and Xi.

Myself, I think rox is part of the system and gets paid for his posts.
You can make up your own minds.
