The whole “homosexuality is a choice” thing has always creeped me out, in that the lifestyle may in a sense be a choice, but the impulse and attraction don’t seem to be at all.
“Choosing” to live hetero, while inside being otherwise seems to be the closeted approach of so many of our GOP pols. And that seems all too likely to lead to double lives, blackmail fodder, and wives who have been put at risk and cheated into marrying falsehoods.
I don’t think Mike Pence (or anybody much) would disagree with that. But the AP and other news sources confuse the issue by refusing to admit the possibility that someone could choose NOT to follow their sexual inclinations because they consider them sinful or otherwise wrong.
