Oh I think the official have every right to make rules about what is allowed at games. Provided the offense, such as displaying a pro NAZI banner, is a clear offense. A hand gesture though, well there can be different interpretations. One based on an internet punking is not valid in my opinion. Did he disrupt the broadcast? I am not sure he did.
I also do not know just how the ballpark officials investigated? I think that would have bearing.
