When I was in school a lifetime ago, a fetal heartbeat could be detected at 18 days by stethoscope. Maybe they mean the woman can detect a heartbeat at 4-6 weeks? Because I am pretty sure our medicine hasn’t regressed that much.
Wouldn’t 6 weeks pregnant technically be about 4-5 weeks late for your period since conception usually occurs mid-cycle?
Actually, it’s four weeks late. You get pregnant mid-cycle, so at 2 weeks you miss your first period. At six weeks, you miss the second.
Birth control and information are readily available. Take charge, ladies.

That is what my first thought was... she is chastising “men” about not being knowledgeable about how the female body works... she's got one and she still botched it. Amazing! It was surprising to me that none of the 22 posters ahead of you mentioned it.
Attitude problem....explains why men aren’t rushing to support her as a really great legislator. Who does support her?

Aside from that being one of the more hateful statements I've heard, a 10-second search reveals that there are dozens of women elected to the Georgia House and Senate. I'm sure that all of them had the opportunity to provide input, if not at least vote for or against the bill.

A pregnancy test is available at the 99Cent store for... a buck. You don’t have to wait six weeks to find out if you are pregnant. A couple weeks will do it, to give the chemicals the time to get up to sufficient quantity to register on the test strip. Of course, you would have to think ahead about things to do this.
