Am I the only one who finds the use of God for political pandering just as nauseating from the right as it is from the left?
That was the point of the hypothetical question, I think. CNN is trying to paint the Administration as religious kooks or panderers to religious kooks.

The video shows it was a ‘do you think’ question. Pompeo did not initiate the conversation. He just said it was possible. What was he to say? CNN is doing their fine work of twisting things again.
God has inserted Himself in to political issues, so I think we’re allowed to do it, too. In fact, we must do it. If it was OK for George Washington, Ben Franklin, etc., it’s OK for us. Not pandering.
