With asylum entry at 1+ million per year with 6 uears til a hearing before a judge, something has to give.
The bottom line issue is that pro open borders has a congressional majority, so after a presidential veto there will be this current system still in effect with over a million pouring in each year.
The earliest primary is about a year away, and even if we knock off a few amnesty Republicans, history says it won’t be enough.
I always try to remember that the current system is a win win for the open borders crowd.
The immigrants who politically destroyed Reagan’s home state (along with CO, NV, and NM) were third-world Christians from south of the border.
Besides, flipping burgers causes global warming, since the cows were alive once, farting away.
Obviously the solution is to heat the grills with cow farts.

Legal immigration has suppressed my wages by 20 - 30 % over my working lifetime. It is a big deal for us little IT worker bees. YES WE VOTE.
Neither do I, but from what little is known about the proposal, it doesn't even fit the "good" category, at this point, never mind "perfect". The fact that Jared Kushner is behind it and that it calls for an increase in H1B and guest worker visas doesn't sound very promising.

Legal immigration has contributed as much to the shift of the US population towards a Third World demographic as illegal immigration. It started with the 1965 immigration act, then in 1990, the quota for legal immigrants was doubled. We don't need additional increases, even if you call them "guest workers" (many of whom never seem to ever leave, especially once they've fathered or given birth to children in the US).
How does 430 million by 2050 work for you ?
