The Railroad that Awaits Julian Assange
Reader Supported News ^ | 4/13/2019 | Joahn Kiriakou

The Justice Department said Thursday that it was charging Julian Assange with one felony count of conspiring to hack into a computer. In the greater scheme of things, that's a nonsensical charge. There are probably 10,000 fat, lonely guys, living in their parents' basements who the government could charge with that crime on any given day.

Assange's attorneys in the UK say the extradition process might last five years because it will likely end up in the European Court of Justice. If true, conceivably Assange could be detained for five years awaiting extradition, or roughly the same amount of time he might be sentenced to if convicted on the computer hacking charge.

The conviction rate of 90%+ that the Federal courts have is not the result of good police work and application of Justice. By any measure it is tyranny. There is no justice in the Justice system. Some smart man somewhere once said, "Justice delayed is Justice denied". There really has not been Justice applied in the US in decades. The guilty are never truly punished for their crime. They are railroaded into confessing to save themselves from harsh sentences. They who are guilty of murder, plead to assault, misuse of a firearm, and/or manslaughter. It looks good on the DA's spreadsheet when he runs for Mayor, but it is not Justice. Neither is what happens to Whistleblowers, and truth tellers like Julian Assange.

President Trump, pardon Julian Assange, pin a medal on him for good measure.

But this one made Hillary angry.

And that conviction rate is only what it is because they cherry pick their cases. If the Feds, FBI, et al ever had to do real police work, like a real detective and the DOJ was forced to prosecute like a real DA, the conviction rate would drop dramatically. Especially with the amount of entrapment they use, with their informants. Hell, you can lie all you want to the cops and if you tried to charge anyone with it, most judges will laugh in your face.

And when they can’t prove anything else, they go with Conspiracy to ???????. A CatchAll charge that is meaningless in a real courtroom. But, federal judges can hand down some pretty harsh punishments if “you waste the courts time” instead of pleading guilty. Manafort is a perfect example. I wouldn’t even say he was investigated 10+ years ago, for the same thing they went after him for last year. The Podesta’s, who he was working with at the time, were able to back date their FARA paperwork, as does everyone else. The clintons were allowed to amend their taxes after getting caught hiding millions. And Manafort is doing time.

Not to mention the theatrics of the FBI agents in kit, with rifles at O Dark Thirty, serving warrants. They should be ashamed of themselves but when you have no shame, that’s not possible. A real cop or detective would have knocked on the guys door in the morning or pulled him over on a traffic stop down the street and then went back to the house. A seasoned veteran, knowing that he already had a lawyer and was cooperating would have just called the lawyer.

That is the sham that is our federal law enforcement community and justice system.

He’s not going to get bail and is going to be locked up somewhere for years awaiting extradition and trial.

A big plus, he will no longer be able to communicate online like he did at the embassy.

Being forgotten will be a living death for this rat.

Does it matter which wing of hell you’re in?

He pretty much saved America from Hillary, and exposed that the NSA was illegally spying on all domestic Communications.
We need more rats like him if that’s what you think he is

Not sure what that’s about. Assange seems to be angrily despised by a lot here.

Assange already spent 8 years in prison.

Trump should get the charges dropped. No Assange, no Trump presidency.

It was Snowden that exposed the NSA snooping.
Assange gave us the Podesta and DNC emails.
