I’ve said it many times and only a few with Horribly Weak arguments disagreed.

Anti Israel is Antisemitic.

Period.

He makes a good point using Italy as an example.

If someone kept CONSTANTLY telling me how terrible Italy is, after a while I would come to think they just hated Italians.

And then they wouldn’t come home for dinner one night :)

Criticism based on lies, however, is just bigoted. It's a mask for another kind of hatred, so disgusting that something milder has to be shown in its place.

That is EXACTLY the issue, my FRiend. Jewish self hatred is almost a cliche. I read it somewhere just recently that part of the reason Jews feel that way is that they have been persecuted for so many thousands of years that they want to deny their heritage in order to avoid any more persecution.

Think of that what you will, but it is plausible to me.

The answer is most American Jews, while ethnically Jewish, are ethically leftist. And ethics trump ethnicity -- as they should.

Something about this sentence structure distressed's me so I started nosing about in the definitions of assonance, consonants, and vowel harmony and remain nearly as ignorant as before the excursion into such arcane (for me) research.

I think the repetition of the vowel sounds in "ethnically" and "ethically" are examples of vowel harmony although they might be examples of assonance. I leave it to the fine mind of Firebrand to educate me about all this, as I know she can.

On reflection, it is clear that what bothers me about the sentence structure is the attachment in immediate vicinity of the word "ethically" with the word "leftist." I think the term "oxymoronic" better fits than the three I have been agonizing over.

Otherwise, I think Dennis Prager is, as always, on the mark.

Many are largely secular, and have replaced religious faith with a very, very misguided belief in secular intellectualism, which is not all that intellectual. Many are more embracing of Marxism as an ‘achievement’ of an ethnic Jew than they are of the profound Jewish history of faith and the Judaic roots of monotheism.

It's not just American Jews who are following this path of secular intellectualism, and it is replacing or at least invading the faith of many in America.

To me, this secular idea that faith is simplistic, outdated, and can be superseded by a pursuit of knowledge and ‘intellectual’ thought is just another instance in human history in which dogma and arrogance leads away from truth. It's a bit like a current day replication of the hubris depicted in Migdal Bavel, the Tower of Babel.

I didn't know the "dog" was a depiction of Bibi. Looked more like Golda Meir to me.

In any case, the Slimes cartoon doesn't phase me, as a jew, because the Slimes is like an annoying fly in the room. It occasionally flies by my ear, with a slight buzzing sound, and then dissapears. Until the next time it buzzes by. Not worth my effort to even think about SLimes.

The thing I don’t understand is over the last 75 years immigration has allowed about half of the world’s Jews to live here in the US. Yet as a group, for the most part they seem to hate the US and want to destroy it ala CLoward Piven. It seems to me the one government that has done more for Jews than any government in the history of mankind would be one they would support. So do they really have a self hatred that causes them to hate the ONE country in the world that hasn’t kicked them out? It just doesn’t make any logical sense. I can understand why Bolsheviks hated the Tsar. But why try to destroy the US?
