Defective immunizations after 1957 ?...?
No. It means that most of us who were children in 1957 and before caught measles and that’s how we acquired our immunity.
Not the best way to do it.

That means 90%
or more of the cases of measles in this outbreak, occurred among those (adults, remember!) who were never vaccinated, that is, *immigrants*.
The American Replacement Project continues apace.

You’re kidding me. No, that was the Army shot. Children are not inoculated with that kind of thing and blood doesn’t run down the arm after getting shot with that thing.

No, it was an Army shot. Other Vets are confirming it.

If I recall correctly, childhood measles is a lot less serious than adult measles. And it’s sounding like the vaccination fails to protect against adult measles in 10% of cases.
Those might actually be the smart parents.
I had measles twice as a child. Not sure if the vaccine was available, but I was allergic to most mediums that the vaccines were grown in.

Yep, and blood running down and dripping off the elbow.
I wonder if the Army still uses those.
The most painful shot was the single shot in the tensed up muscle of the butt. That was for the plague shot that we got before going on the all expenses paid trip to the war games in Southeast Asia.

Would the US death rate be lower now? We can take a look at the 2011 European outbreak, which had over 26,000 cases and a death rate of around 1 per 3000, but varied highly by country. France bore the brunt with a death rate of around 1 per 2300.
UPDATE: Attentive readers have provided citations for the 2017 measles outbreak in Europe, with around one death per 1200 cases in Italy, and one death per four hundred cases throughout the European Union.

Those high European death rates are likely the result of unvaccinated ADULTS.
The disease is far more dangerous to adults than children. By far, most kids walk away without any permanent damage.
In 1950 in the US it was “complications” in 1 of 1,000 and death in 1 in 10,000. And in 1950 EVERY kid got the measles. Every kid.
