Screw these people trying to nickel and dime you just for allowing you to park in public.
Our courts expand our freedoms to do silly things we never even thought about, while making it harder and harder to make a living and simply live our lives.
When I was about 12, my dad got transferred and we stayed a month in a hotel until our rental was ready. They only place to park had a time limit and they chalked the tires. It was my job to run down to the parking space every few hours and rub off the chalk mark. We didn’t move the car and we didn’t get a ticket.
Free Parking is one of the big reasons America became great. I don't generally put up with pay parking. Living in lower pop. density places helps. I do supply Free Parking for anybody who shows up at the compound.
When the guy leaves his rusted kidnap van in front of your house for three weeks you will sing a different tune.
No Parking on Village Streets from 2am to 6am. They tow after 1 warning sticker is attached.

Careful what you wish for. Marking tire is common in small downtowns. In order to have free parking for customers there needs to be a time limit (2 to 4 hours is normal). Otherwise the free spots get filled up with employees or apartment dwellers. The alternative is to have paid parking meters.
” Crazy judge will say looking at a car is unconstitutional. “
Yes, well, of course it is ! After all, looking is (unconstitutionally) ‘searching’ for a violation.
If you’ve had your tires chalked, can you file a civil rights suit and sue for damages??
When will the first class action by the ambulance chasers be filed on this?
Good. Don’t touch a man’s car or horse.
So chalking to verify a car hasn’t moved is the same as attaching a GPS to broadcast when a car moves and where it moves to and the path it takes to get there.
Logic like this is why we can’t have nice things.
Sorry, they can’t attach a sticker. Read the case.
Sorry, they cant attach a sticker. Read the case.
Sure they can. Its not a search. Its a notification. Dont like it? Sue us.
But keep your car off the streets between 2am and 6am. The other 18 hours are free of charge.
Have a nice day.

A chalk mark is “trespass”? You’ve got to be kidding me.
Follow the money. Who benefits? Tech companies that automatically scan and read license plates. Who got paid off?
There are plenty of tech solutions out there...been available for decades.
There are good reasons to allocate a scarce resource like parking spots, and it doesn’t have to be in much of a city. You want businesses? People need a place to park, and if you make it expensive to park all day, much less so for a couple hours while you shop, shoppers can do so and keep businesses alive.
Excellent. Make the meter maids stand there and watch.
No problemo. They will just use cameras and image recognition.
Quite a leap to imagine that a government official has a right to wander around defacing private property. Any ideas what they would do if you took chalk and started writing on the police station?
Mayor Arturas Zuokas uses a tank to crush illegally parked cars in Vilnius | Daily Mail Online
This has nothibg to docwith safety and you know it. Regular police dont chalk cars. Parking enforcement revenue collectors chalk cars.
I am all for making them sit there and watch timers going to zero. Or timing how long a car is in a spot.
We have a guy called “Ticket Ted” who spends all day walking the downtown area chalking and writing tickets. He’s in better shape than any of the cops.
