“They would need 19 more Mitt Romneys in the Senate”

When all is said and done I don’t see a single GOP senator voting for impeachment. Mitt is too much of a coward. I so regret voting for him in 2012. Aside from this there is at least one Dem senator who will not vote for impeachment, Joe Manchin. Say what you will about him (I don’t like him much either!) but if he is anything he is a smart politician. The last election cycle the GOP ran a guy who was not liked very well in the state (I know. I used to live there and still have friends there) and he came within about 10,000 votes of beating Manchin. I seen Manchin voting against conviction and even him endorsing Trump in the general. And before some of you say he is a worm, or tool, etc. he knows what it takes to survive in WV. Wouldn’t surprise me if he became republican before the next election.

Honest to goodness, I’d be concerned that democrats couldn’t find 20 Uniparty hacks masquerading as RINO senators to convict the president.

What is the high crime or misdemeanor to provide a charge?

Manchin is always about Manchin.

Right now he is positioning himself to be to grab one of two seemingly diametrically opposed brass rings.

1. Make himself available as the “moderate” Rat VEEP choice for whatever leftist “whack-a-doodle” gets the Rat nomination.

2. Run for WV governor. I’ve heard from people who know him that he hates being a senator. He doesn’t have the personality to be a legislator prefers a executive style “decision making” job not the “compromise finding” legislative job. The current “billionaire-coal-baron-turn-resort-owner” WV governor has been pretty much a flop and is now a GOP’er originally elected as a Rat. (WV’ians have always been unduly impressed by the rich!) This guy’s failures have given Manchin an opening to return to the governorship.

My question: Where is Manchin going to put his yacht? I doubt it will fit down on the Kanawha River waterfront in Charleston!

I'd heard that he also likes junk food -- McDonald's in particular (must be a narcissist thingie - McDonald's, The Donald - get it ???), and that he drinks his diet-Coke (not even Pepsi ???) through a single-use plastic straw !!! (there goes the environment ... Climate Change and all that) ...

So then, The Donald MUST be Impeached !!!

We should not be daring the Democrats to do what they should not be doing just because we think that they will lose the vote. Instead, we need to be telling voters how the Democrats are manufacturing evidence and trampling on the Constitutional requirement of evidence of treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors.

“Their first step will be an attempt to get guns out of the hands of the general population. And they won’t make noises about repealing the 2nd amendment, they’ll just pretend it doesn’t exist.”

And what makes Democraps so omnipotent as that? By what means? Using what plan and what resources & manpower?

Yeah, Red Flag laws can disarm citizens one at at time but that’s at state level only.

The 2nd Amendment exists until it is repealed by passing & ratifying another Amendment. Good luck with that, gungrabbers.

Well, we're finding that out in Colorado. So far they've taken away our vote, destroyed the oil and gas industry, going to unionize all public employees, expanded public schools, more gun control, raise taxes.

All of the above is correct except raising our taxes. They have to ask permission for that and the voters have said "no" time and again. Even in the blue election last fall, statewide revenue increases (in many forms) were rejected.

I agree in spirit, but also disagree in practical terms ... the Dems started this fight and its up to us to utilize Ju-Jitsu against them ... turn their own strength against them to our favor ... CW-II is already here, it's been for quite a while ... and now is not the time to try to make 'nice' with Lefties anymore, that ship has already sailed and been sunk way too many times.

My sentiments exactly. If the Democrats believe that Trump has committed crimes that are so manifest and supported with irreproachable evidence than impeachment is their moral imperative. They are also convinced that there would be dancing in the streets were Trump to be removed from office. Then what are they waiting for? With the irrefutable evidence of Trump’s numerous crimes the Senate Republicans would have no choice but to vote for impeachment. Romney would be leading the charge for impeachment and you can just hear his stirringly bland speech denouncing Trump.

Of course this is delusional and at least the adults in the Democratic Party know this, but the hair on fire crazies and Trump loathers who have taken over the party believe this with their whole souls. They will ride this delusion through the 2020 election. When Trump is convincingly re-elected there will be a total meltdown.

“Manchin is always about Manchin.”

You may be right about the governor thing. I lived there and think he was actually a decent governor (for a Rat). But this is why he will never for conviction of an impeachment charge. He is already on the knife edge or electability and would never get elected for anything else if he voted yeah.

About the VP thing, The Dems would NEVER nominate him. First, because he would NEVER swing WV or any of the surrounding states. Second, I am convinced that Mayor Buttplug has that sewed up. Yeah, being homosexual in the Dem world qualifies him for high office.

But back to the Manchin thing, a vote against impeachment, even endorsing Trump while remaining a nominal Dem will not hurt his chances for Governor, maybe even enhance them.

Agree with what you are saying!

House may vote to impeach Trump. Senate wouldn’t remove him. The Democrats would feel the heat at the polls in 2020.
