‘This is morally wrong:' Former VP Joe Biden slams Shop & Shop parent company in Dorchester speech

The Stop & Shop parking lot at the South Bay Center in Dorchester was packed for a change on Thursday Vice President Joe Biden as he slammed the grocery store’s parent company for proposing health care coverage cuts and other changes in its contract.

“How can they make that money, buy back all that stock and tell you they’re gonna cut your wages?” Biden told hundreds of union workers, shoppers and politicians surrounding him on the rainy Thursday afternoon. “How in God’s name does that match anything?"

...

Stop & Shop says it proposes paying at least 92 percent of health premiums for family coverage and 88 percent for individuals. The company currently covers 94.3 percent of premiums for families and 91.4 percent for individuals.

...

Biden showed up more than an hour after the rally began, following speeches from employees, union leaders, U.S. Sen. Ed Markey and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh. He compared the South Bay Center to his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and recalled his father working cleaning furnaces and selling cars.

“My dad left Scranton because he didn’t have work,” he said.

He described the middle class as not a demographic, but a value set that was built up by unions. He credited unions for taking employers to courts and securing 40-hour work weeks, overtime pay and other labor rights.

“For a while, a lot of other laborers, non-union, forgot it," Biden said, “but now the way they’re being treated by corporate America, they’re beginning to remember it again. That’s why they’re going to support a boycott of this place.”

And he’s a preacher now.

‘Kill the children, but if they make it, bring them to me so I can feel them.’

The poor Stop ‘n’ Shop dolts are faced with the terrifying prospect of having to pay upwards of THREE WHOLE EXTRA DOLLARS a week for their health care.

Just imagine how people like this would have fared in the Great Depression.

Of course, Creepy Joe is very happy to validate these snowflakes.

Makes sens go on strike for 8 days now over a $20/month increase in insurance premium, to a whopping while you still get a rise ans a 100% company funded pension.

The horror of having to pay $26/week for insurance for your family now to $38 in 2021 is definitively worth loosing a weeks pay so far, right? If S&S is willing to essentially pretend Easter doesn’t exist, you might just be striking yourself out of a job.

Uncle Joe, the economic genius. He knows the company’s financial situation and what they need to do to prosper. Is there anything that Democrat geniuses (who never worked for a company a single day in their lives) DON’T know about running a business?

Family coverage
Current — company pays 94.3%
Proposed — company pays 92.0%

Individual coverage
Current — company pays 94.1%
Proposed — company pays 88.0%

Maybe Uncle Joe hasn’t heard what his partner in crime did to health care premiums and why they have soared out of sight.

3rd party payers need to get out of healthcare altogether.

Everyone should have their own individual, private, secured healthcare account. For life-threatening or catastrophic coverage, you should be able to buy a plan anywhere in the U.S. on the market.

[Whiny ass liberal voice] "So...so you want poor people and old people to die? Nice strawman. Do you realize we have state governments that are more than capable of taking care of the poor and elderly, as well as the generosity of Americans who will donate to charities that will help those in need?

Joe heard what his partner did with the ACA. When it was passed he whispered in his partner’s ear that it was BFD.

“Give ‘em a hug” — that’s worth a thousand bucks a year. Kind of like Beto O’Jerk saying his charitable contribution is “him giving himself to us.”
