House Democrats exploded in anger Wednesday over Attorney General William Barr’s plans to roll out special counsel Robert Mueller’s report, accusing the Justice Department of trying to spin the report’s contents and protect President Donald Trump.
Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will hold a press conference at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning to review the report, which may be heavily redacted. Reports that DOJ officials have already discussed Mueller’s findings with the White House only further inflamed tensions.
“I’m deeply troubled by reports that the WH is being briefed on the Mueller report AHEAD of its release,” tweeted House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler. The New York Democrat added that DOJ informed him that Congress will not receive the report until around 11 a.m. or 12 p.m. Thursday. “This is wrong,” Nadler added.
A Senate aide confirmed that lawmakers don't expect to receive Mueller's report until 11 a.m. on Thursday — after Barr and Rosenstein's press conference — and a discussion about providing a less-redacted version to Congress won't begin until Friday. Mueller‘s probe focused on Russia's attempt to interfere in the 2016 election and whether any associates of Trump aided the scheme.
“Why is William Barr holding a press conference if not to (once again) try and frame the Special Counsel’s findings,” tweeted Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.), a member of the House Judiciary Committee. “Just release the full report and let the American people judge for themselves!"

Anything Barr does that drives the Democrats nuts is fine with me.
If Barr just released the report without speaking, they’d scream that he was “running away from the report”, etc.

How true! And speaking of redactions, how many times did Dems complain when Rosenstein sent near totally redacted reports to Nunes’ committee?
