Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for being an authoritarian, 'Trump-like figure' while suggesting that US military and economic aid to Israel should be cut.
The Representative for New York, a rising star in her party, has insisted that the idea of cutting aid to Israel should 'definitely be on the table'.
The 29-year-old has been criticised by the Jewish Democratic Council of America for the comments, with the organisation saying that US-Israel ties 'must supersede politics'.

I am as big a supporter of Israel as they come, but I still want US to stop foreign aid to Israel and everybody else except in disaster situations. We’re trillions in debt. We literally don’t have the money. We borrow money from China to send to other countries in foreign aid. And our struggling taxpayers are stuck making the interest payments. Meanwhile, our own roads are filled with potholes and our bridges are falling down. Could you make up a better definition of insanity?

I support Israel, strongly. If we were to give ANY foreign aid that’s where it should go.
And we should start giving ANYONE foreign aid once EVERY vet has all the healthcare they could ever need, our infrastructure is modern and in perfect condition, the wall has been built, the budget balanced and national debt retired, and the income tax has been eliminated. Until those occur we shouldn’t be spending one CENT beyond our borders with the exception of maintaining the capability to whack anyone who intends to hurt us before they can do so.
We. Owe. No. One. Anything.
The lives of everyone outside our borders should matter less to the government than one homeless American Citizen.
