Skip to comments.Shock: College President Spine Manifested

Camille Paglia said something the other day that triggered a group of whinypants college students at Philadelphias University of the Arts. They launched a petition to get the schools president, David Yager, to silence its most famous professor.
I just want to let that sink in: these SJW twerps actually think they can defeat CAMILLE FREAKING PAGLIA!
From their Change.org petition:
Here is what we demand of UArts:
1) Camille Paglia should be removed from UArts faculty and replaced by a queer person of color. If, due to tenure, it is absolutely illegal to remove her, then the University must at least offer alternate sections of the classes she teaches, instead taught by professors who respect transgender students and survivors of sexual assault.
2) The University of the Arts must cease to provide Camille Paglia additional platforms such as public events and opportunities to sell her books on campus.
3) The University of the Arts must apologize for its embarrassing response to this situation, and specifically President David Yager must apologize for his wildly ignorant and hypocritical letter.
4) The University of the Arts must sit down with a group of transgenders students and survivors of sexual assault to discuss how they can best be supported moving forward. This group must include students of color.
At this point, most university presidents would clutch their pearls and convene a listening session to negotiate the terms of their surrender. Thats not how David Yager rolls. This is how David Yager rolls:
How about that! A college president who knows hes a college president, and acts like it! Thank you, David Yager. More, please.
President Trump also told them to grow a spine a few weeks ago.
Bravo for him. This is a reminder that there was a time when people could disagree with a person’s views and yet maintain mutual respect, as many of us do with Paglia. She is a liberal lesbian but unlike virtually every liberal lesbian on the planet, she is intellectually honest and objective. This is what academic freedom used to mean.
There may be some suicides.
Snowflakes don’t cope well with not getting what they want.
I’m heading out there to aid in crisis counseling.
He fires Paglia, his college backslides into the mediocre community college type school it was before. It was Paglia who made it. After being fired from Bennington, Paglia could not get a job at a prestigious university. She taught prisoners and welfare mothers before getting a job in Philly. It was her books and int’l fame that put this school into a whole different category of educational institution.
He’d be crazy to get rid of her.
But Im not a college president.
I think she described my daughter.
Your arrival will create a crisis for the poor things.
I have no reason to doubt you, but I also think he is expressing his own convictions, not just doing what is expedient.
Pendelums always swing both ways, maybe we are starting to see some sanity return to higher education.
Remember the executive order President Trump signed...re: Free speech on campaii or lose funding??? It’s about the Dinero
“STFU and stop crying like a b.tch!!” :)

Some cyanide pills might come in handy.
“there’s a quick way out of your misery!!”
Actually, I watched “arsenic and old lace” recently, and I looked up arsenic and cyanide and strychnine and it was fascinating how they work. Essentially starving cells of oxygen, at least one of them. I forget which.
I’ve no idea if they’re natural or man made and where ANYONE who has used it, gets it!
Don’t want to.
One of the funniest movies ever. Carey Grant at his comedic best.
Neither are natural but its easier to synthesize strychnine than cyanide. Back in the day I played with sodium cyanide to case harden metal parts. Put the part in a crucible, toss in the cyanide, heat over a blow torch till straw colored.
Toss into cold oil to quench. Do NOT breath the fumes. OSHA would have shut us down in a half a heartbeat if they saw it.
Those were the days.
I've emailed her a couple of times, expressing my admiration.
I think I read somewhere that one of them you can distill from daffodils.
Those were the days..lol
What a GREAT movie!
I enjoy watching movies before my time. Some are great.
He was GREAT in that.
