It may never be rebuilt.
The original Cathedral took over 250 years and whole forests to build it. It would take Billions to just rebuild. And the artwork will never be replaced.
There are no forests in Europe to replace the timbers used to support the roof and towers none.
We are witnessing a passing of a era.

Latin Mass is offered at ND at least once a year for the pilgrimage to Chartres.
When I was there three years ago, it was clear that it was an active religious building. Mass was celebrated there daily, and great care was made to remind visitors that it was a church. Besides the many signs, I'm sure no one can forget the frequent announcements of "Silence".
