Only rebellion will prevent an ecological apocalypse
The Guardian ^ | Mon 15 Apr 2019 | George Monbiot

Posted on 04/15/2019 6:20:20 AM PDT by artichokegrower

Had we put as much effort into preventing environmental catastrophe as we’ve spent on making excuses for inaction, we would have solved it by now. Everywhere I look, I see people engaged in furious attempts to fend off the moral challenge it presents.

It will reach the critical threshold only if enough of us cast aside denial and despair, and join this exuberant, proliferating movement. The time for excuses is over. The struggle to overthrow our life-denying system has begun.

Sorry the sun is coming up here in California and I have to head out to the farm to work for feeding America. You engaged people continue on with your furious attempts.

No matter how clean we make our country India, China and third world pollution will be unaffected.

The article?

Pure English “eco insanity” horse crap.

Yes, we farm too and I know horse crap from hog manure. Both smell, one smells worse than the other.

They want you to revolt so that you, and family, can freeze in the dark while being hungry.

The socialists master will be well taken care of though.

The commonest current excuse is this: “I bet those protesters have phones/go on holiday/wear leather shoes.” In other words, we won’t listen to anyone who is not living naked in a barrel

As repulsive as the image is, I wouldn't listen to you even if you were living naked in a barrel, George.

And everywhere I look, I see people engaged in furious attempts to shut down debate on the issue. And that is what really scares me.

The reason we don’t pay any attention to people like George Moonbat is not only because the leaders of their doomsday cult are blatant hypocrites it is primarily that there isn’t a shred of evidence to support their absurd positions. Man-caused global warming is poor fiction, and those who believe in it are gullible fools.

Note how he immediately tries to defend rank hypocrites in Hollywood and the political class who push this crap while flying in private jets, riding in limos and living in palatial seaside mansions that burn 30-40X the energy of the average American home.

Another lame attempt to excuse the blatant hypocrisy is “oh it’s OK when I do it see....I bought a bunch of carbon credits”.....or as I call them, the selling of Green Indulgences by the church of Gaia.

https://www.instituteforenergyresearch.org/climate-change/climate-alarm-failed-prognostications/

Acquaint yourselves with at least 5 specific FAILED Climate Change predictions. When needed rattle off who said them and when.

I have NEVER “lost” a discussion with a Climate Change alarmist. They are all generalists buying into hysteria.

The wonders of this kind of BS are the unintended consequences. They may well make the planet a better place by starting a rebellion they can’t win and in the process arrange for the removal of enough socialists to make the planet a much better place in which to raise instead of abort our children.

If everyone who thinks CO2 is a dangerous pollutant would stop exhaling it, we could solve this problem overnight.

FAKE NEWS OF THE DAY

The subways in Manhattan are flooded, Miami Beach is underwater, the Potomic River is lapping at the base of the Washington Monument.

The entire Hawaiian Island chain has slipped beneath the waters of the Pacific Ocean.

New Orleans is now a deep hole in the Gulf of Mexico protected only by leaking 50 foot levees and massive pumps running night and day.

Throughout the world people are dropping in the streets from starvation because of massive crop fallures.

Things are so bad that the illegal aliens are leaving the US and returning to Mexico and Central America on their own.

Muslims are voluntarily leaving flooded Europe and returning to the Mideast to dry out.

Planned Transformation

That is what this is....he admits it.

They wish to transform the world. The people reject their ideas....so they are going to try and force it upon everyone.

They just cannot fathom that they are the ones out of alignment with nature....human nature.

When a conservative uses a word like ‘rebellion ‘, liberals
start ranting about hate speech and fascism. It’s interesting how calmly it’s accepted from the extreme left.

The article is screeching "DO something!!" but the author has no idea what we're supposed to be doing other than screaming "Do something!" like this lass is apparently up to:

They lump all things in together, real problems and imaginary or theoretical ones, and then demand some immediate, disruptive but undefined action to address them all simultaneously. The plastics in our oceans is a real and immediate problem, with some potentially effective real world approaches to addressing it. But it's being lumped in with nonsense like walrus suicides and tropical polar regions, so people just ignore screeching idiots like this writer.

It's a fuzzy mix of imaginary and real problems, with contradicting or counterproductive solutions tossed together with potentially viable resource management solutions or improvements. Even if everybody on earth agreed to do exactly what this idiot wants, nobody would know what that is.
