NGO Says Venezuela Deadlier than Syria: ‘Worst Humanitarian Crisis in History of Americas’
Breitbart ^ | 12 Apr 2019 | EDWIN MORA

Venezuela’s socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro has triggered the “worst humanitarian crisis in the history of the Americas” with the help of Cuba, Russia, China, and terrorist groups, the executive director of the Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba (FHRC) told Breitbart News Friday.

The deteriorating security, political, and humanitarian conditions in Venezuela are comparable to those in war-ravaged Syria, Juan Antonio Blanco, the director, wrote in a report he co-authored with other Cuban and Venezuelan experts.

In the report issued Friday, FHRC declared:

Citizen insecurity, added to political repression, has left more than 24,000 violent deaths [in Venezuela] in 2018, – not including the thousands that have died of malnutrition and lack of medicines – comparable to the total that occurred in Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq [respectively] in the same period. An exodus of three million equates those refugees coming out of Syria. A man-made regional catastrophe.

None of the media seem concerned about Venezuela.

They were all talking about how terrible things were in Syria and that is why the U.S. needed to support ISIS.

The Cuba/Venezuela situation is fine with them.

We as a country need to stay out of this. Nothing there worth saving.Let the PRC and Russia die on it, without our interference.

In the good old days we would have sent in an “advisor” to place a bullet in that punks head they could start rebuilding.

Indeed, they will just blame the Yanqui Imperialist for anything America does there. Something about Latino culture loves the caudillo and socialism.

Let socialists destroy the country to the point they are literally eating each other.

At some point, they will hate socialism to the point where it is completely eliminated from their culture for several generations.

Remember when Hugo Chávez delighted the MSM of the world by standing at the lectern on the stage of the UN General Assembly — a day after President Bush addressed that body — and said: “Yesterday, the devil came here, right here. Right here. And it smells of sulfur still today, this table that I am now standing in front of.”

I wonder if they smell anything like sulfur in Caracas today.

“Worst humanitarian crisis in the history of the Americas?” Has this writer never heard of slavery, the Conquests by Spain and Portugal, the human sacrifices and conquests of the Aztecs,Mayans, and Incas, the smallpox epidemic that devastated the native populations, and the American Civil War?

I thought we were trying to learn from Venezuela to create a similar socialist paradise here in North America.

At some point, they will hate socialism

But only if they experience its horrors in depth, then get themselves out of it. Any ‘rescue’ from outside will deprive them of the task they need to accomplish for themselves. Otherwise their brief jubilation will be replaced by a return to the habits that got them there.

To criticize or cover the chaos in Venezuela puts a light on the ills and failure of socialism. This does not meet the liberal goal of the MSM and therefore it has not been covered as it should be.

I am sad and sympathetic to the plight of those in Venezuela just as I am for those here in the U.S. who DID not vote for this and DO NOT want it. There are many fine Americans who now find themselves living in liberal states and/or cities.

There are many lessons in Venezuela regarding the ills of socialism and centralized planning for those willing to examine what happened and I pray that other nations in South and Central America are taking heed even as our nation seemingly flirts with it.

Otherwise their brief jubilation will be replaced by a return to the habits that got them there.

My point exactly. Moreover, having a socialist shit-show running daily in Venezuela benefits Americans - by giving a constant reminder and argument against the stupid cliches of people like Sanders and AOC.
