FULL TITLE: House Democrats give IRS hard deadline of April 23 to turn over Trump tax returns, say administration’s concerns ‘lack merit’
House Democrats are giving the Trump administration a hard-deadline of April 23 to turn over President Trump’s tax returns, pushing back against Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin’s skepticism over their request for the presidents’ private records.
House Ways and Means Committee Chair Richard E. Neal (D-Mass.) on Saturday sent a two-page letter to IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig rebuffing Mnuchin’s statement earlier this week that Treasury would miss House Democrats’ initial April 10 deadline for the returns.
Mnuchin’s concerns “lack merit,” Neal wrote.
Neal’s latest letter sets the stage for a further escalation in the conflict between Congress and the White House, as legal experts have suggested that an outright denial of their request by Mnuchin could be followed by subpoenas or a lawsuit in federal court. Mnuchin so far has only postponed responding to Democrats’ request and said he would confer with the Justice Department, but not yet rejected it.
“Please know that, if you fail to comply, your failure will be interpreted as a denial of my request,” Neal’s letter states.

Screw them. Give them nothing. Let them take it to court. STILL give them nothing. Let them take it to the Supreme Court, where they’ll throw it out since Congress has no right to someone’s tax returns just to do a fishing expedition to see if there’s something there they can destroy them with. This is NOT the way our Government is supposed to work.

I’m.no lawyer, so may not understand the law here.
But normally, don’t you need some probable cause of some financial crime committed, to subpoena financial records such as income tax returns?
Are these House Democrats constrained by legal requirements, or do they just feel entitled to demand whatever they want ?
All this B.S. is to attempt to deflect from the total fiasco that was the waste of the Mueller investigation, and more importantly, an attempt to make enough noise to deflect from the fact the FBI speed on the Trump campaign and attempted to entrap them in criminal activity.
hillary and ilk refused to hand over documents during an investigation for how long again?
I think this is a big troll for the president. Get the press worked up into a frenzy, then release them all and everybody discovers all of his dealings are not only squeaky clean, but that he has more charitable contributions than all of the democrats combined

Lets see the chart of the net worth in aggregate and individually of these congressional ass clownsm versus the taxes Trump paid for this duration.
Lets focus on the private business of a guy who has had no finger prints on any of the nations problems/business until he assumed the presidency - yeah his taxes seeing that is going to help everyone, how? well that's obvious
They are so desperate to get rid of him, I wouldn’t be surprised if they search back into his grade school years and look for classmates to come forward with ‘accusations’.
