“I consult the OPM for guidance on how to handle their requests. I don’t know where I will look for that regulatory guidance once the OPM is disbanded”

It seems from the report, management of those functions will shift either to OMB or the GSA. No doubt within either of them will be a new, subordinate, office responsible for those functions.

Senior Executive Service. These are the political appointees that are at the top of the federal agencies and are supposed to serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.

Not all of them. We have plenty of SES in Homeland Security who are not political appointees.

I was told a long time ago by those that supposedly know that in theory they serve at the pleasure of the President.
The respective agencies nominate them and send the list to Congress for concurrence. Protocol-wise similar to military Flag rank officers that’s why when you see official pictures of them there a flag in the background.

If Trump was a dictator, that would be easy. Or if he acted beyond his Constiutional powers (ie like a dictator) he could do all kinds of stuff.

But he cannot act beyond his Constitutionally mandated powers.

Up to 10% of SES positions can be filled as political appointments rather than by career employees.[1] About half of the SES is designated "Career Reserved", which can only be filled by career employees. The other half is designated "General", which can be filled by either career employees or political appointments as desired by the administration. Due to the 10% limitation, most General positions are still filled by career appointees.[2]

It appears to be a mix of career employees and political appointments.

Whatever they area, I'm glad I'm not one. I have no such aspirations; they have to attend way too many meetings.

Yes Shilly, it’s a good start.

How decertifying the unions, and then take out a department or agency a month?

Pretty soon, we might just have something.

cut un-needed federal jobs. ..transfer as many jobs as possible to the States.

How about this?

Kill off any dept or agency that has a counterpart at the state level (DHHS, DOE for example) These should be the first to go.

Let the drones go flip burgers, mow lawns etc. The state socialist entities are overstaffed now.

Once a 15 (SES), they own you - she says.

GS15's are not SES, they are still a standard government employee, alibi, the very top rung. SES is above the GS15.

Then I worded it wrong as she declined the SES - sorry. Never got near that far.

The magic in this plan is the fact that liberals in those offices are heading for The unemployment lines.

Not to mention the purge that could occur when these lazy entitled mooches find out how much their work load will increase.

Or it could just be window dressing. The agency can be desolved while the operations and workforce are simply reassigned to the new addresses. In effect, no change. Swamp redefined in stead of reformed.

From the article:

“The White House does not foresee the reorganization laying off any federal workers, but the workforce is estimated to decrease through retirements and unfilled vacancies, reported The Post.”
