This is a good analysis of one financial motivator for transgenderism. However, there are other motivators, as some other posts have already noted. Another motivation is that there is big money in transgendered prostitutes, particularly in the Muslim world and some parts of Asia.
Transgenderism seems to me be very close to transhumanism.

We do not have a free market. We have a vastly regulated market, and the regulations are written by and for the most wealthy and powerful.
Mark Zuckerberg is calling for more regulations because he knows they will favor the big guys and hurt the small guys.
